: Debadging front of '10 Coupe.

Hello all,
Quick question, I have an 2010 SES Coupe on order. The minute I signed the paperwork I began thinking about mods...[hihi]
Anways, I want to completely remove the Ford oval from the front grill. Without having the car in front of me though, it is hard to gauge if this is possible. The back of the two bar grill looks like plastic from the back, but the front claims to be dark chrome. How feasible of an idea is this? The main problem is the mounting part that is underneath the actual Ford oval looks like it is built into the two bars.
Any thoughts? (also, first post, woot woot!)

based on your username, my only thought is V8 swap.

the emblem is screwed into the grill in two places, you an easily take it off but will leave a flat oval with two holes left there attached to the grill. its all one piece. you can paint over and fill the holes if thats what you want. if you want just the two bars to go across with no ovals at all you cant unless you make something yourself. hope this helps.

I've always wanted to do this with a Fusion, especially on the new ones. You'd need probably three grills and would require hacking them all up to pieces, plastic welding them together and then painting it (not including the hours it would take to mock it up, test fit it, prep it, gotta give out the details because some people on here love to point out the literal shit) But unless you can rechrome it which I don't know how possible would be on plastic, but the factory did it so hey......

Will that void the factory warranty?

I think I might try it. If I can find one at a junkyard I might play around with trying to dremel the underneath oval part off, bondo it then take it in and get it chromed or painted.

you can find a new (or even used) grill off ebay or craigslist for cheap and hack away at it. as for the warranty, you only need to worry about it if something were to break that was related to your grill. whatever the case, its not going to be easy as the other people ahead were saying.

If you want to get another idea though, look at Travis' focus on cardomain HERE (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3336607). That's something different but you might be interested in that.

The grill thing is doable, just hard work...

and he meant would the V8 void the warranty.. of course it would.. it covers the 4cyl, not a 8 that got put in there
