im going to look at an '03 SVT with 104k miles on the clock. The owner says a good majority of which is highway miles which, judging by where he lives and where he works, is believable. Anything I should look out for since its got so many miles? Its been awhile since Ive had my focus so I need a refresher lol

I would ask for service records. In particular, you want to see proof that he has changed all the fluids regularly, and also the timing belt. If it is still running around with the factory belt it is a time bomb waiting to blow. SVT-wise, thats a pretty used up car, highway miles or not, if it hasn't been serviced regularly and properly, it could be near the end of it's useful life. That is MHO.
I'm going to move this to Ford Focus and general car chat for better exposure.

Thanks for the move. I will have to ask and double check on the belts. Thanks for the info

I guess it's also pretty good that he works at the ford plant here in Louisville LOL

I have 112,000 on my car, and it is running strong still. If he hasn't done the timing belt, just plan on doing it immediately after buying. Also ask for records on if the clutch as been done. Other than that you should just look at normal wear and tear parts, brakes, bushings, etc.
