Interesting what Ford's response was. I'd be worried though if my competition made my parts. That just doesn't sound right.

I work at a federal Mogul Piston plant, we cast , machine, skirt coat, ring, pin and sometimes put the rods on too. We make pistons for Ford, GM, Dodge, Nissian, Kawasaki, Briggs and Station. We have a prototype Dept. allso. So i see why Ford isnt worried about the deal, its allmost like the deal they have with us. We make there pistons and keep there "secrets" seperate form the rest.

That's very interesting to me. I guess that side of the business is somehow an extension of times gone by. What I mean by that is that it surprises me that greed and corruption haven't affected those relationships adversely. It just seems obvious to me that you could easily find a plant worker to pay off to get some type of information that you need to make your parts better. Or, more easily, a scumbag CEO could pay another scumbag CEO to pass secrets. I guess I should try to see the good news in this instead of focusing on the bad that doesn't exist.

We make torque converters for Ford,GM,Chrysler and Allison there designs for internal stuff is different along with sizes. Most of the manual clutch stuff is different in design also.You make the parts that customers send you Part prints for or work with the customer to give them the part they want.All auto suppliers do this.Ford pays for there Tools and Dies fixtures and it is only used for Ford production only.Same with the GM,Chrysler and Allison projects.
