ok yea as my name says, im new to fords, but not to cars it self... im just wondering if the 1.8 zetec tranny fits on the 2.0 zetec motor, im getting a 2000 ford focus, (thats a auto) and i want to swap it to a manual, should be getting the car between monday and wednesday (10th - 12th)... i have the capability of doing the manual swap. At a local junkyard i found a 98 escort zx2 5 speed and was wondering if that would fit, if it does, is it a direct bolt up, or do i have to do some fabbing of some sort?
but heres a little backround of what ive done and do..
i have a 1991 civic hatchback, with
converted from dual point injection (2 injectors) to multi point (sucha pain)
fully built b16a2 block, with a b16a (jdm head)
je forged 9.1:1 comp pistons with eagle h beams
acl bearings
micro polished crank
arp head studs, and rod studs
stage 4 clutch with a fidanza 7.5lb flywheel
stage 2 specced skunk2 cams with adj cam gears
titanium valve retainers, new guides, and 2 springs per valve set up
t3/t4 turbo (.57 trim compresser housing)*(.73 trim exhaust housing)
2.5inch exhaust (down pipe and all)
hks sequential blow off
carbon fiber hood, the car isnt running right yet, cuz i have the wrong distributer on the car. but my goal is 24lbs at around 475whp to 515whp on a good tune
...
and for this focus, it might make you all happy, im trading a 94 civic 4 door turbo, jdm d15b 3stage vtec with a td05 16g turbo at 10lbs of boost :P (i need to stop getting pulled over hence y im getting the focus, unattractive to cops)
but anyway with all my previous work ive done on honda's ive learned if the motor is in the same family for instance- honda's..
b16a, b16a2, b16a3, b18c, b18c1, b18c5, b18c7, b18a1, b18b1-- all the transmissions will all fit with eachother, and so will some other parts from eachother,
im just wondering if its the same way? my goal for this car is to keep it clean, put a nice suspension on it with larger sway bars, and autocross the bitch *(until i get enough money to swap it to manual)
thanks all :D
