I suppose I could list this as a poll, but what's the verdict?
eBay, Autotrader.com, local newspaper, Cars.com or some other website?
Consignment at a local shop?
I'm not looking to make a profit, just get my money back out of it. The car in question is a low-milage (32K) '03 SVT Focus 3-door that has very little wrong with it, but isn't necessarily perfect.

ebay is a big joke as is autotrader, etc.
Very few people are willing to actually trust a private seller or drive any distance just to look at a vehicle these days, especially your average car.
Don't forget Craigslist either . . . might get a happy ending massage out of the deal.

sold my focus on autoweb.com in like 3 days..but i'd post it anywhere you can if you're lookin to sell it fast

craigslist is sweet, but def. be prepared to list it a few times... things get burried on that in a day or two. Ebay is not trustworthy enough for people. You can try auto trader, My family has bought 2 cars on that site, one private, one from a dealer, no problems.

If you're cheap, go with Craig's list. Like previous poster said though, you have to keep relisting it every day to keep it near the top of their list. If you can afford a few $$, go with AutoTrader.com. Write a nice, descriptive copy, and take at least 10 GOOD photos.

If you list your car with my local paper they include listing it on Cars.com as part of the price...
Then again there are very few cars listed in the local paper here anymore... most of the listings have moved on-line...

Depending on your market and how big a reach you want, I'd go with Auto Trader and Craigslist combined. As someone else suggested, take GOOD pictures for Auto Trader. You can always email potential buyers pictures via Craigslist if they need more than the handful you are limited to.

Carmax has the commercial that says we'll buy yours even if you don't buy ours, but they would probably give you a crap offer.

Listed my cobra on cars.com and craigslist.
Got more calls from the craigslist listing.
Listed it every Wed and Sat.
Also lots of scammers responding to cl, but the guy that bought it found it there.
