i have a 2002 lx, 2.0 ltr, with a 5 speed tranny. i was told to put mercon 6 in to change the oil. another told me to put synthetic 75-90. can you tell me what would be the best for the tranny. thsanks ouelletteml[ffrocks]

Check the owner's manual, whatever it calls for is what you need!

I use Amsoil manual transmission oil. I started using it because I had an '08 Civic Si and most Si owners dump their factory tranny oil due to the old and dreaded third gear issue(Hondas suck). Consensus was that Amsoil was the best so I tried it. It did really well so I still use it and will be putting it in my Focus ASAP.

I just put Ford full synthetic 75-90 in mine, it's pretty smooth but it's expensive, almost $60 for 3qts
