About to get Tom's DIY kit and would like to know an average price of a Turbonetics Evo wastegate and Greddy BOV (Tom's preferance) that I should be looking for. Im new to FI, so anyones help would be great!! [cheers] Also, are these components safe to buy used?
Ive looked around and have seen WG's for around 300 give or take 20 bucks, and BOV's for 150-250 (not including the greddy knock off)

what kind of greddy are you getting?
the greddy type s was crap. the internal diaphram broke on a lot of them. the type rs is pretty good though.
and the greddy knock off type s bov arent bad. i have an ngr type s (much better internal diaphram than the greddy) and its worked great for me for hte past 6 months or so.

I've ran the GReddy Type S for 4 years of being boosted at 300whp and I've never had the first bit of trouble from it.

I have sold or installed or tuned at least 150 type-s and never see any issues with them
I use the type-rs knock off there about 35.00 on ebay and have used or sold about 50 of them with no issues yet
The EVO is costly but the WG I have had the least issues with , they are on ebay now and then for 185 to 225 new

Yeah I saw the EVO's on ebay... figure its a important component, dont really wanna go cheap on that one. Saw the Greddy's too, believe it or not, I dont think I saw any "knock offs", there were plenty of (bad) advertisements about them though in listings themselves!!
Oh a guy that works for me told me to go greddy, Tom mentioned it also in an email. Im pretty much just going with what experienced folk have used, since I have NO experience in FI.
Thanks for the imput guys

i have used the knock off gready rs for about 3 years. no problem even running 24psi though it for a year of that.
i also used the evo wg. very nice peace. never had any trouble. great control no matter what level of power i was running.
my friend recently bought a knock off type s for his sonoma. seems to have quit a bit of trouble out of it actually. may have just got a lemon though.
for my turbo v8 i am going to using a large tial wg (got one for a great price). and a knock off ssqv (originally bought for sti, decided to stick with recirculation on it for now). i'll see how these work.

the AEM True Boost gauge/boost controller and the AEM UEGO GAUGE WIDEBAND O2 CONTROLLER KIT look pretty nice, and seem to cover everything. I dont like gauges everywhere blinding me while im driving.
