Well i have a problem. ( MTX-75 Trans ) I Think i blew up my clutch. I cant get it into any gears with the clutch depressed. But when i turn the car off, i can slide it into gears no problem. Then starting the car with it in gear, it moves fine but with grinding noises ( think its clutch parts at the bottom of the bell housing ) Any suggestions? Also focus owner since 06. Zx5 Yellow hatch. SCT Tune Full Race header + magnaflow exhaust.( No egr system, soon to be ford racing head with pistons+ rods)

umm I have always been able to move thourgh the gears with the car off, that has nothing to do the the clutch being bad.

Usally, if the clutch is going bad when you go to accelerate the clutch wont catch right away, (slipping) this is move obvious under higher loads.

When its on, its kinda as if the reverse lockout is in all gears, with the clutch depressed or not, i cant get it into gear without slamming it in there and grinding something

syncros then? Like I said you know it if the clutch was slipping, what your discribing doesnt sound like sliping clutch, to me.

damn i hate taking it to a mechanic when i know whats kinda wrong with it, i just dont wanna spend money on the clutch if it doesnt need it, I guess i gotta tear apart the transmission for the failure.

But i dont think its the syncros, all 5(or however many a foci has) of them would go bad instantly after working for who knows how long?

you are going to have to tear into the tranny to fix this no matter what the problem is so you might as well either take it to a mechanic or yank it out or there yourself. sounds like the clutch isnt disengaging from the flywheel. kinda like trying to change gears without using the clutch pedal. throwout bearing would be my guess.

Problem found, spring off of clutch in pieces in the bottom of the bell housing. shifts fine now, egr problems now. :|
