So i'm planning on getting another, hopefully within the next 1-1 1/2 year. my only problem is I cant decide what I want to get. I dont want to spend more than 10k. I really kinda want a 1999-2004 mustang gt and build the crap out of it. I dont really want another 4cylinder just cause I feel the urge to have raw power from a rawring engine. Anyways, opinions on what I should look into???

my picks.

1. 1999-2004 Mustang GT

2. Another focus but a sedan?

3. Camaro

4. GTO

5. Mazda 3 or 6

6. Eclipse GSX????

7. Scion XB (it would be more of a bling car I guess, their not fast enough)

8. SRT-4

9. Cobalt

10. 240 sx

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

the price of an early c5 vette should be just over 10k in another 1.5 years.

I'm partial to the GTO. [:D] But as an owner of one, I hope the price hasn't dropped from what they are now to $10,000 in a year's time, that would be some major depreciation.

The Mustang is a good choice. If you're leaning towards Mustang or something with a V8, I'm inclined to think you may not be that happy driving an xB.

yeah im leaning towards v8. And the thing with the xb is that it would be like a show car. I would do the sound system, rims, paint, etc. But its just not practical. And IF I did that it would be good, not ghetto.

My $0.02-Subi WRX. My bro just got one, it's sweet! I have been shopping around also.

i agree about the WRX. if you get the one that is not an STI but still turbo'd you can make them crazy fast. i have a cousin that did this and that car is a beast. and the all wheel drive is fantastic. good luck man.

You made up your mind that quickly?? [???:)]

My advice....go drive every vehicle on your list. You'll find your likes and dislikes much easier that way, and your choices will widdle down I'm sure.

^^^^ i agree with him. another thing to consider is where you live. if you live in a place like texas where it is mostly flat and straight you should consider getting something that is fast in a straight line while if you live in the hills where the roads are more curvy you should get something like the WRX that will be really good at the corners.

I say do the mustang and put some 10.5x18 rims on the back. It will look mean. But I am biased, I have an 01.

If you choose a scoob,i would go with gc8 chassis( impreza pre 00)2 door,do a swap and u'll be right around 10k if you shop right. Or go with a mustang, throw some suspension, supercharger, and you'll have a nice street/track car.

You mentioned that you'd like something other than a four cylinder engine, so that would rule out the Mazda 3 and some of the others you mentioned. If you are still considering a Mazda 3, you will need to look at ones several years old to get the price under $10k. It's do-able and you may even be able to end up with an 07 or newer.

My previous ride was a 2007 Mazda 3i. I think it was the best car I ever owned and I've been driving since 1973. Decent mileage, good handling and power. The 3i's come with a 2.0L and the 3s are equipped with a 2.3.

no i havn't made up my mind. I do like subies. And I actually used to live in texas and will be there in a couple of weeks, not in my car though. I have very curvy roads. I would rather get a v8 just cause you can throw on a blower and BAM, your super fast. And the thing with the Eclipse is that my friend has one and it seems to be the worst car ever made. he has had it since 07 and has only been able to drive maybe 6 months total. I just thinking outloud really, but I think it will come down to either a subie oy mustang GT.

I do not recommend any foxbody unless it is already fixed. You will spend ALOT just in regular maintence.

If i were to buy a new car, i'd have to get either a WRX or an SRT4 =) but i guess i've never really considered a mustang, that'd be another option

Yeah it really coming down to either WRX, SRT-4 or some muscle v8 something. I'll just get another 4 cyl. because it will out handle any v8. We have VERY curvy roads, which are fun but there's not any passing zones :(. And if you have any pics of some sweet rides, post them up.

Thats what i'm leaning towards. I know it will be another year at least if not 2, but I like to have a game plan. I will still be "upgrading" my svt but would like to get another just for the heck of it.
