In my opinion if your not use to tuning engines then yes it will be hard to tune an EFI Car

It isnt just reading a book and then go tuning , you need to understand what each change does and how it effects the engine

You need to either understand the basics or have someone teach you. Its VERY confusing with no book or no one to talk to. But, if you know someone who has used the software before and they help you out its a lot easier. I learned more watching John and Tom tune my car than I did reading or messing with it.

Basically, if you don't know where to start or what to do next after a given datalog, you have more reading / learning to do. Just don't make changes unless you know why you're changing that.

I had no problems once I got the software, but I've spent the better part of the last year of my spare time preparing to tune my car (learning the basics).
my tune has been going great for about 3 months now after a hiccup in the beginning due to a mechanical problem. It helps to have experienced advice when you need it (the forum is good, but sometimes you need someone there with you... Its easy to second-guess yourself and do the wrong thing).
