: **Need-To-Read-Thread!** Lots of pics (56k.........kill yourself)
SPIman2.0 06-05-2009, 09:29 AM Alright guys......... so here's the deal.
I know a bunch of you have PMed me recently because I haven't been my usual...... 25 posts a day self. I have tried to pm all of you back and Am still working on cleaning myself up......
So here's the reason I've been gone for a week or two...........
The story starts on a rainy day and a back road...
I was coming back home from a friends on a back road so I could get ready for work. I was running a bit behind schedule, so I was of course, going slightly over the speed limit. Only 5 miles or so over, and the road was 55......... so I was going around 60.
As I said, It was raining............ so here's where It gets interesting.......
I'm going around a corner......... and I start feeling some shaking in the steering wheel. I shift down to 3rd to get some grip, but my back end keeps sliding out. I hit a curb, flip twice, and land right next to the road.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of the car at the scene as it was (because I was in an EMS vehical), but I did get some after pics...........[bigcry]
Engine bay...

Front......
http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm173/Archangel21416/531.jpg
I will say this....... I feel both extremely lucky, for the fact that I walked out of that wreck with just a concussion, and extremely grateful that I was driving a focus, for the fact that It saved my life. I've seen guys in hondas, toyotas, nissans, chevy's, everything... wreck a car like this and they weren't so lucky....
But, I'm alive, and that's what counts right now. I've already got the $ going through for the car......... so If you guys find ANYTHING focus wise around 6K, PM it to me.
Another thing too.......... the cops charged me with "wreckless driving".... but I'm not worried about it. My lawyer is already working on getting it dropped and I have 2 months before my court date.....
Djmike2485 06-05-2009, 09:59 AM Well it's good that you are ok. Wreckless driving?!? Do they have any concrete evidence? I mean, like you were really driving wrecklessly.
I have heard the Focus is really safe in accidents that involve a roll-over. I'm guessing insurance totalled the car?
BigRed03 06-05-2009, 10:01 AM damn, dude, sorry to hear. Hope everything works out for ya!
DerekGrugan 06-05-2009, 10:05 AM go buy an svt you damn luck y american lol, there for sale all over the place in the states....nothing in canada:(:(:(
FocusFanatic 06-05-2009, 10:06 AM "Last night a Focus saved my life..."
Great to hear you're okay, sounds like an extremely scary incident.
Everybody check your cars (re-check, check again) -- you get no points if you die.
Sometimes though, something just breaks.
bluefront 06-05-2009, 10:08 AM And just why do we "need to read" this? You were driving too fast for the conditions....you wrecked your car. It was your own fault. The same thing will happen to your next car if you continue driving carelessly.
Lucky you didn't kill someone in another car....or a passenger. [mad]
bigjordan 06-05-2009, 10:11 AM sorry dude. just curious, did you downshift in the middle of the curve?
kjsoccerdude 06-05-2009, 11:11 AM Wow man. Good to hear you're ok and good luck with finding a new car. Hopefully this might help you out...

rambleon84 06-05-2009, 12:14 PM glad no one else was involved in your accident, could have been much worse.

DrkKnight614 06-05-2009, 12:39 PM Thank God for the foci's awesome roof. Look at that, flips and the roof barely crushes into the cockpit. Amazing, glad your ok too. I think when I look into my next car, I'm going to surf the net for accident pics to see how it fairs in different situation. 6k for a focus, I'm sure you'll be able to find something awesome. Don't wanna buy something new tho huh? Like put a nice down payment on a car?
turboguy327 06-05-2009, 01:04 PM I have been thinking of selling my sonic blue 02 SVT. PM me for more info

Bluefront, as always, I respect your opinion, but seriously, It was an ACCIDENT. I wasn't trying to race anyone, I wasn't trying to drift or any shit like that, I just misjudged.
Unlike you, Some people, including my friends on here, wanted to know about the accident, and wanted to know if I was alright. So I posted in respect to them.
The point of this whole thing wasn't to have you come on here and harass me about my accident, It was to show, that yet again, a Focus has saved one of our lives, as it will probably do many times over in the future.
ShamrockSVT 06-05-2009, 02:39 PM I'm really glad that you are doing well after your accident. Its great that you are not injured beyond being concussed, and its good to here you have the funds to purchase another vehicle.
While Bluefront's comments are very true, and I share similar feelings in this situation, I have to agree with SPIMan2.0 that this thread is to tell about what happened and the aftermath, so from here on out, we can consider commentary on who is at fault and what could have been done to prevent this situation covered. I'm sure Spiman2.0 has learned something from this incident, and its sad to see another focus get wrecked, but lets all celebrate the fact that one of our members has survived a horrible ordeal and lived to fight another day.
trailbikerider 06-05-2009, 03:03 PM Glad to hear that you're ok. It seems that foci like to whip their ass-ends around in rain/snow. Mine does the same thing on anything less than optimal tread.
lightning2nd 06-05-2009, 03:26 PM thats sucks, glad that you are ok
bringler26 06-05-2009, 06:03 PM Glad you are okay shit happens and we learn from it.
While looking at your car the mud kind of looks like poo. sorry had to say it.
Captain Moonpie 06-05-2009, 08:21 PM And the focus saves another life. Glad your safe!
FocusVet 06-05-2009, 10:12 PM Oh man!
eliaslincoln 06-06-2009, 11:12 AM hot damn! glad your ok dude.
Section1 06-07-2009, 08:56 AM Glad to hear you had no serious injuries.

Dude wtf? like he said it was an accident. . .a simple misjudgement, it happens to a lot of people. He didnt blame anyone else either. no need to be a jackass.
im sure he wouldnt get on your a$$ if you wrecked your car.
kick him while hes down why dont you[nutkick] jeezzz.
And on the other hand. . .
pretty nasty wreck dude, your lucky.
j-zetec_pr 06-07-2009, 07:45 PM sorry to see this happen to anyone. but it's good that you are ok- once again it proves how safe our cars are
2003focusowner 06-07-2009, 08:00 PM Good to see you're ok man. I have had some intersting experinces with the focus rear end sway myslef. Fixed it thought, with s et of rear control arms from SPC. Got rid of all the negative rear camber and put my tires down on the ground. No problesm now.
evanjfrancis 06-07-2009, 11:27 PM wow man, that really sucks. your lucky your alright
CaysE 06-16-2009, 03:22 PM Shifting is probably what caused snap oversteer and complete loss of control. I did the same thing with my first SVTf just by lifting off the gas around a bend as the rear came around. Slid sideways into the curb and the car rolled over onto the grass. You live, you learn.
By the way, are you Archangel21416 on Youtube? If so, you better clean your feet quick as they're about to end up in your mouth.

How so? SPI Man, how is the charge coming along?
Were you written the citation by a local, or state trooper?
whynotthinkwhynot 06-16-2009, 11:18 PM Well, I'm glad you're ok and everything seems like it's going to work out for you now- at least once you get over the sleepless nights from the concussion.
I'm scared to drive my Wagon in the rain right now because the tires are nearly worn down to nothing. Light car + little tires + rain = DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER!!!!
I hope you get the SVT- what an upgrade from an SPI- LOL.
