Swap Your header (exhaust manifold) for a D23 one, then boost9either turbo or supercharger). If I have read correctly over these past months, the head swap should be a perfect fit, just Plug n Play.

stock? i'm guessing. i would do a intake, header, catback, and a tune and u will proly be happy with that. the auto is the issue. boost will be hard on it. but with a tune u can get it to hold a little better and the modds i listed would make it a decent amount more peppy. look into some suspension work to. if u ask me thats what makes our cars shine their best. suspension mods!

Still, boost that ATX, just be sure to hit up Tom(1Turbofocus) for a tune.

idk if the stock auto would hold up to boost for long tho? might have to look into a lenchtec(sp)? witch is big bucks. i would say if ur stock at the moment just do some basic bolt on's and see what ya think. if its not enought then do a lil more. till u get it were u want.

and how much would these cost?

Suspension, which as 06Roush said, is Your best aesthetic and handling mod, will run around $400.00-ish. Tune, about the same. Both are worth it. Exhaust can be custom bent at a local muffler shop for $100-$200 and add a Borla, Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler in there for another $100-$200, GOOD CAI(Cold Air Intake) also around $100-$200.

Gotta say though, the tune(from Tom) may be Your best bang for Your buck because He offers free upgrades, which You will need when You start adding other things, rather thanthe $35+ Others tend to charge.

yes agreed! tom does have a hell of a deal on the tune. get it and if u decide to do more then he will update it for the new setup.

He(last I heard) even has a special tune for the ATX called 'Aggresive Auto', or something like it... I, too will have Toms tune after I take My current engine out back behind the barn and shoot it.

Go to the Vendor Forum from the Forum Jump tab and go to Focus Power, and PM 1Turbofocus. Keep in mind He lives in Mexico now(semi-retired, long story), and can be a hair slow to respond, but He is on every day. Just PM Him, He will get back to You.

BTW, Where in TX are You?

Just remember, if You have any problems installing the tune, which does happen occasionally, be sure to PM or call Him, He is very helpful[thumb]

Get that intake, though. Intake is just as important as exhaust. You can buy a cheap Short Ram at Advance Auto or O'Reillys for, oh idk, $35-$40, then buy a K&N cone and throw the one that came with the SRI kit away, pop that K&N in place and Voila! Deep breathing intake.

ehhh idk, for the price i wouldn't waste the money. if it was a smooth tube not a rippled one maybe but nah.

X!FOCUS
05-12-2009, 12:05 AM
okay thanks, i also saw a cheaper one for about $40, whats the difference between the cheap one and the more expensive one? (any real/major difference?)

jmiller_1974
05-12-2009, 11:36 AM
Just the price, all the fancy tubing doesn't mean shyte without a quality filter. I say if You're gonna drop some cash, go with the Volant. Seems to be that Everyone who gets one is thrilled sticky with it.

06Roush
05-12-2009, 12:24 PM
idk don't think they make a volant for the duras do they? ive heard nothing but good stuff about the new fswerks one tho!

honhon
05-12-2009, 04:06 PM
i think you need to check out the duratec section. your obviously new to the focus world. and an engine swap isnt the normal first mod.
