What engines are compatible with the IB5 manual transmission?
Does anybody have a list with which engines mate to which transmissions?

Didn't know you had IB5's over there.....
In Europe they're used on Zetec/Duratec HE/Zetec-SE (sigma) engines. As with the MTX there are various casings to accept differing starter motor positions and transmission mountings depending on vehicle. Also now, due to the Duratec HE, a different bellhousing bolt pattern.
I don't know about US engines but until the Duratec HE arrived, the bolt pattern between bellhousing and engine had been the same for over 30 years. Also the ring gear diameter hadn't changed.
However, the position from the block face of the ring gear (and tooth profile) and clutch does change. So generally if you can retain the starter/flywheel/clutch/CPS on the replacement engine, it will work. How long for depends on what level of torque you ask it to take.
