Doing some research to see what people would like to be made out of Carbon Fiber or any ideas for custom items. i like the look of the 2x2, plus isn't that acutally stronger?? thats what i thought.

actually they are equally strong in shear tests a lot of places us don't use it because of the extra time that it takes to manufactor makes is slightly more expensive and its a little more difficult to get a hold of in large quantities. Luckily for me i have already found the suppliers that have them both for the same price.

I LOVE the 2x2 design for CF.... it just looks so much better to me.

Here are a few things I've been wanting to get my hands on in CF, but haven't been able to find......

-Side Mirrors (OEM style)
-Rear hatch/Trunk trim
-Grill (I know, I know, but I can dream)
-Engine cover (like mazda's but in CF and made for OUR FOCI'S!!!)
-Front Lip
-Door Handles

Basically anything that's plastic on the car. My car is black, so CF looks REAL good with it, but I don't know how CF hatch/trunk trim would look on a car that's NOT black.....

But anyways, Those are my ideas. You could always do hoods and fenders of course, but then you'd be competing with the BIG boys over at Seibon and Carbon Creations.

Name choices.... hmmmmm...... how about..... Carbondrive..... or Carbon Research...... I don't know.... anything really. Just think of something.

2X2 Twill

i lake them both i like the 2x2 more but hell i would get both given a option...

if you are looking for a product line, eng covers, door panels, headliner, gauge pillars, lips, defusers "SVT or SAP", doors.

i would personally get any of those things my self and im sure plenty of other people would as well..

To me it seems as if the 2x2 twill has more of a flow to it. I liked the way the flow of my hood went at least.

So it looks like the 2x2 twill wins. Very nice thats what i was hoping for.

Back on topic. 2x2 is the best. My hood looks like that. It looks amazing in the sun.

I just talked to Steeda about a carbon fiber hood for an 07 and up .They told me they didn't have anything in production or design.

Only carbon fiber hoods they sell for the Focus are years 00 to 04 and stop.

Man, I'm the only one who liked the plain weave.......Oh well.

when are you getting started creth?

Here within the next couple of weeks. I have an intake design that is being drafted for me right now. Looking into other parts that can be duplicated so i can offer more parts then just the intake.

So i ran across this fabric today and would like to know the opinions that you guys have about it. Its a colored Kevlar with carbon weaved together.

Back to the carbon, my opinion is whatever is cheaper. Because to me CF is CF, yeah te 2x2 looks bad ass but I'd much rather spend 100$ on an item if it was cheaper.

I found both the plain weave, the 2x2 and the hybrid colored weave for the same price. so the only thing that matters is how much of each i order since the price drops the more i order.
