Does this mean we could be seeing a 6-speed manual in the Focus again soon?

A 6 th gear would be good for cruising the interstates at 75 mph.

With 175 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque, the four-cylinder Fusion is hardly a sports sedan

Looks just like a 2.3! but stroked?

Forget the SVT swap!

175hp/172 lb-ft torque - 2.5L 6speed would be a nice motor/tranny swap!!

Yup - that's what it is. The 2.5 is in the new Mazda3 as well.

all the duratec 4 cyl. are the same block just different stroke and i believe a small difference in bore. 1.8 2.0 2.3 and 2.5, for some reason im imagining a 2.5 or should i say a 2.0-5,higher rev with the torque and hp. with a 6speed in my 09 in the future mmmmmmmmmm muhhahahahahah lol

What the hell is that thing? Thats a Fusion? It looks like a CRV.

Well the U.S Fusion is shaping up to be quite a nice car. I like the new look of the front a lot more than the old.

Haha...yeah it does. I guess they used the name on something else. The Mondeo is the the "Euro" Fusion....

No, at least in the US, the Duratecs are not the same block. The D20 and D23 share design, but the D23 has a balance shaft, and the D20 does not. The deck height is not the same either with 11mm more height on the D23- probably due to the balance shaft. The D25 I-4, from what I've read, has a 100mm bore, but I'm not sure about any stroke differences between it and the D23.

That engine will fit in the Focus, but I'm not sure about the 6 spd. That would be very nice if it did fit. The D25 I-4 has been available for a year in the Escapes with a 5 spd. I've been thinking about that for a while now, but my engine is not dead yet.
