So the legal limit in WA state is 35% on the front two windows. Would it look odd to take the back ones on my ZX3 down to 15%, and have the fronts 35%? Does anyone have any pics? Just how dark is 35%....

35 on the front with the backs done at 15 will look great. the front will be a litlle darker then you think because the rears are done. I dont have any on my front windows and they seem darker because the rear is done.

It will look way better than having no tint on the front thats for sure

Also, the shop quoted my $199 out the door for everything said and done, with a lifetime warranty. Does that sound about right? Ive never had windows tinted before. I thought it sounded like a good price though.

Yeah its for all five. With the % ratings stated above.

I wouldnt tint the backs, and leave the fronts non tinted, unless it was a law to do that or something. I think that would look strange. How hard will it be to see at night?

Thanks, those pics give me an idea on how the % difference will look. I dont think it looks strange at all.

Seeing this image, which the car has 20% around

And I would go 5% darker, now thats DARK, lol.

Go for it. Btw, I just moved here from Seattle, I miss Olympia beer, good cheap beer.

They dont make that anymore do they? I havent seen it in a very long time. How come you moved all the way over there? Military? I like Olympia, minus the rain and all that crap. It snowed again today [?|]

Met my dad for the first time last year (he found me on Myspace, crazy eh?) so I moved here to get to know him. Yeah Olympia beer has been gone since '03 I think. I don't miss the shitty weather at all lol. I'm sure you remember the hail last spring... nuts.

Legal limit in WA is 20%.

I paid $150 proffesionaly installed with lifetime warranty on work and lifetime waranty that it wont peel, bubble, or change color. That was cash under the table though...

I have 20% on side windows and 4% on back window. (I regret that part, can barely see out the back window at night.)

Just make sure you have a pro do it that will stand behind his work. Dont have like the neighbor kid do it with some autozone tint or something sketchy like that.

Does it not matter what % you have on the back?

How do you know thats the limit? The shop here said it was 35% on the fronts, and whatever on the back ones. Id like to get the front ones as dark as the law will allow......

I should just go ask a cop, lol.

Well I legally got 25% here in SC, and its a stricter state than WA far as I've experienced.

My tint guy said it was 20%, and he does all of the cars sold at the local ford dealer and chevy dealers. Dealers cant sell anything unless it is 100% legal.

And my rear window is very illigal. I have a very large sub in my hatch that cost me a good deal of money and I did not have a hatch cover at the time. So my best option (or so I thought) was to have another layer of tint applied on my rear window. So if you do the math, 20% visability of 20% is 4% visability. If I was thinking at all I would have gone down to the junkyard and bought a hatch cargo cover (which I ended up doing anyways) and wouldnt have to worry about not seeing out the rear. Oh well.
