ok so i just installed my 67mm tb from cfm yesterday.
and i noticed one of the cables has a bunch of slack now and it has cause my has pedal to stick for a second. and not activate all the way, and this happens through all gears.
(this isnt the pic of it on my car, its a random pick i found of one)
its the circled one.
there is about 1/8-3/16" slack before the crimp at the end.
and before the crimp was right against the plastic pulling right away.
does anyone know where i can get those crimp things or how to fix this.

would a jewelry crimp bead work?

Do you have the line pinched somewhere? Mine has that slack in it. I have the bbk, I had to cut the hose clamp alittle bit so it could swing past it. When you open it by hand do you feel it get stuck or the play in it?

well there was no slack in it before i installed the new cfm tb.
then i have slack after i installed.
the line isnt pinched.
idk what to do.

or is there anyway to adjust the slack?

The pictured cable is the cruise controle cable NOT the throttle and should have some slight slack , If its sticking this is a very common problem , set your idle with the screw to about .500 lower then normal by unhooking the idle air controle valve and see if that helps any

where is the screw your talking about?
but also how come there was no slack before hand?
i didnt have the sticking problem before i installed this.
but it also idles better, right at 900rpms.
and where is the I-A-C valve.
im confused. why would i just unhook the IAC valve?
do i not hook it back up?

Yes you hook it back up after you set the idle screw to .500 less then with it hooked up
It is sticking because of the way it was built , the plate inside is rubbing when you let off , by adjusting the screw sometimes it lifts the plate just slightly and helps with the sticking
2 diff TB will have diff placements of parts thats why there wasent any slack last time , there should be a little slack

ok and it only sticks when i try to accelerate. The revs do not hang like the stock TB.
it just sticks when im trying to push the gas in.
and when i set the screw to .5 less do you mean mm.
and would i be turning it clockwise or counter clockwise.
also where is the IAC valve?
03-28-2009, 02:44 PM
That depends on what the idle is now , NO you are setting the idle , if stock idles at say 950 then set the idle with the TB screw and IACV unhooked to 850 to 900 then plug it back in
You may have to take the TB off and sand the plate inside some
Yes it sticks when you first to to give it throttle , This is a very common probelm because the throttle blade inside is cut with sharp edges and it wedges in when the plate closes

i have your predator tune and u bumped up the idle to about 900 or so instead of the stock 750 give or take.
im going to twist the screw clockwise until that plate lifts just to where it wont wedge and stick anymore.
and why would i need to unplug the IAC if the car is going to be off during this process?

Mine did the same thing when I installed it - just keep driving it and it will smooth out.
