These are pics of my friends focus that got wrecked. Both my friends that were in the car walked away from the accident. you have to love how safe the focus is.

i freaked out one night cause some idiot ran a stop sign right in front of me ... and i thought the focus woulda crushed like a pop can so i hit a curb ... this makes me feel safer

nah, seriously im glad they are okay, how come when you see a crashed focus, they are usually upside down?, at least 2 out of 3 hatchs that i have recently seen crashed on this site have ended upside down!!!

but yeah, the focus looks to be a very safe car. i had some old guy turn infront of me and i had to jerk the wheel to get around him or else i would have t-boned his ass, needless to say i didn't hit him or anything else, just went around him on the shoulder....wierd.

Honestly this isn't uncommon. If you search wreaked Focus you'll see a ton of threads where people smashed their Focus and walked away.

It sucks the car is toast, but at least they're OK.

ya it did it happened in the Prescott area.

This is his story of what happened.

Well.. a few days ago, while driving down a deserted road in the dark... With only 600 miles over the 100k mark:

A small deer jumped in front of my foci, with me doing about 50mph.

Now I know that everybody says to just hit the damn thing.. but instant reaction says that if there is something in front of the car, AVOID.

Anyhow, i veered to the left, putting the car into a nice drift, which would have made the pros proud. Counter steered, and the wheels caught momentarily, and spun me around to the right. Now, im doing 45ish, sideways, across the road through oncoming lanes.

Then i hit the berm. WooHoo! thats a ride. BLAM, everything goes dark.. every light in the car explodes, pitch black, and my head slams the driverside window.

"Then.. i was weightless, i thought it was over, and i was just seriously jacked up.. Nope. The car slams back down from its flight upside down, back onto the road. and slides about 50 feet down the road into the ditch on the right side of the road where it comes to rest.

I managed to crawl out the hatch window, though later i found out the passenger window was able to be opened. Besides a small laceration to my head where it broke the driver side window, and a few bruises here and there.. Im fine!

Anyhow, after seeing the wreckage, and rebuilding the accident, what you are about to see is testament to the structural rigidity of the Foci. Had i found one on the market in decent condition, i would have not hesitated to get another." ~Viper

Glad your OK.Tough decision, aviod or hit. Hit and chance clipping legs and goes through the windsheild or try to aviod. What's important is the fact your OK.

I live in the country with deer everywhere, the rule is swerve toward the direction they're coming from. Glad you made it out ok, the Focus did its job.

wow, that's a crazy accident! Glad they are ok. If something happened to my focus I'd probably get a 3 as well. They are great cars, just as great as the focus, only a tiny bit better.

Honestly not that suprising they are ok. Crashes like that give the car time to absorb the energy and not let the occupants take the impact. Watch racing. When the cars wreck hardcore the driver walks away. When somebody drives headfirst into a wall and the wreck doesnt look that bad(Earnhardt) the people inside get hurt real bad.

That's cuz he refused to use the Hutchens device. We have airbags... when they decide to actually work.
