Ill need a new trany prolly stifer front suspension, new axel to make it rear wheel drive, and a few odds and ends. Lol if i pull this off i could be running 400hp with 20psi of boost! Honestly, im not trying to bust your bubble or anything like that, i swear. But why would you even try that? Physically, how, especially vertically. Also, it would weigh probably 1/3 the total weight of the car. Without extensive, and complete redesigning of the whole car, it wouldnt be safe to drive being that front end heavy. Wouldnt it just be easier, and cheaper to build the zetec with a turbo?

Being the 4bt dry weight is 700 pounds, yes you'll need some serious frame work. Far as dimensions go There is no way, 26" long x 27" wide x 32" tall.

and in the world of diesel hp is irrelevant. TQ is where the real fun is.

One diesel you may be able to stuff in there is the old chevy 350 diesel, came in more cars than trucks. Figuring if you can fit a 302 and a 4.6DOHC the 350 isn't that dimensionally different. Oil pan will be the hang up though.

ahhh that chevy diesel is junk hahaha got to go with cummins power baby ive owd a 94 and currently own a 93 cummins, my dad has an 03 twin turbos all the goods!!!, my brother own a 94, and is building a 10sec 95cummins like 1000hp he has 20000into it no turbos or pump yet....but anyway if you did that it would be nuts you could build that motor to like 450hp and be able to drive it every day

Lol yea we have been looking at it for a while. Don't think i will acually do it although if it worked it would be funny as hell! Could you imagine walking by a focus and it starting up like a diesel lolol. i'm aiming togo over the 400whp bar with my zetec with 20 psi of boost! and still street drive it... if hks can get 475whp out of a zetec, then why can't i touch 400!?! i don't think u need a diesel for those numbers[slap] + 4 the cumming 400 isn't much of a mark.[smackbum][cheers]

lol yeh but 20lb of boost with a diesel is nothn im push 53lb with my truck, my brothers truck will prob be around 100, for a 450hp 4bt on #2diesel only ur lookn at like 60-70lb of boost depending on if you get head work done or if you just dump a crapload of fuel and just throw a huge charger on it. boost with a diesel is different then a gasser

I have a Cummins in my truck... you need to remember with that 400hp you only have around 3k rpms of engine speed.

With 400hp you'll have something like 800 torque!!

welp with the 6 it would be about 800tq with the 4bt i think it will be less...dude sucks my buddy had a stack kit for 75$ a 5in box he welded up it was pretty nice 2 5in flat black mitres he just sold it

Okay who ever says diesel sucks. I have two things.
1. Go to you tube and watch built corvettes and vipers get smoked by a 2500 truck.
2. I was in my brother in law's 3500 Ram Four Door Long Bed with duals. This thing is half as done up as his daily driver 3500 Four Door Short bed. But any way. We pulled out of a parking lot, this truck (with all 4 wheels in the back spinning) was side ways at the lock for three blocks before he got out of it.
On another day, we pulled up next to a Cobra. Well lets say he beat us the first light because we were stuck spinning the duals. The next light, in 4WD (or 6 depending on how you view it) The cobra had nothing but black smoke to eat.

Thats why diesel is awesome.

I love my Cummins... I run an old school 12v 5.9... we figure its around 350hp and 800tq (not been on the dyno but since its my work truck I see no need to dyno it)

now we are off topic. sticking that huge deisel engine into a focus is physically impossible. you would not only have to lift the car but you would have to stretch and widen the front end and also add weight to the rear of the car. im not saying it wouldn't be freaking awesome because i would love to see that. but it just cant be done. smaller deisel motor yes but that 4bt just aint gonna happen

With that weight you might as well swap in a 460 or a 426 Hemi with aluminum heads. Either of those would be slightly lighter.
