Drove the wifes edge last night. Man those things really crank. I gurantee it will give my SVT all it wants off the starting line, most likely smoke it till i get movin [poke]
So, I see Steeda released some products for us.
Exhaust kit, tune, cold air intake, ground kit.
They claim if you CAI and tune it you're lookin at 40 more horse. WOW, I think they're already pushing 265. The wife's sold on it [pray]

Any other 3.5L owners do any tweeking yet ?

I saw the website as well, it does have some pretty good taste to it.

my friend got one, and it does move. with a CAI it you would probaly only see a deferance in responce.

You should put some boost in the edge. Think how sweet that would be!

We got a flex with that motor. AWD for the win! Im hoping my mom will let me convert it to eco-boost next year [clap]

i think stock it does 0-60 in 7.4-7.7 secs... not bad. thats about as fast as a base bmw
x5 without twin turbos (not sure if they have stuck that motor in there yet or not)

Yeah, it's a great rig. I know it will beat a x5 stock for stock zero to sixty when they were introduced. It's very close but it did get the "edge". sorry, had to :)

i think the sport appearance package whould be standard, it looks a ton better... the "elegant" theme with big chrome wheels and chrome bits dont seem to do this vehicle well (it does far better on the lincoln variant tho!)

I'm guessing you lose some ground clearance though, which for me unfortunately is important this year. REALLY need to get some gravel on the driveway :)
I think they come pretty loaded out of the box tho for the price

the edge does have a mean stance....great ride...ford should've taken notes from mazda on the turbo charged cx7 & 9. That thing is a beast for sure!

My family almost bought an edge but we read some bad reviews on the trannys. Any1 having any problems with their edge?

beware of the tranny seal in the edge! it is very problematic and prone to leaking! 2 people at my work both own edge's and they both had to get the tranny seal replaced after 1 1/2 years of owing the car...

I totally forgot. My parents have a 07 and it's fine, but our 08 let out that light burning tranny fluid smell after just a few thousand. Quick fix thankfully.

well it's not exactly a quick fix, you have to drop the tranny and pull the torque converter to get to the seal...

Nice Edge, I like the Flex those things are nice.

true..i call it quick because of warranty work i finally don't have to do myself.

The edge with fords sport apperence lip kit looks freaking sick and really cleans up the Edge nicely. Get that, and the performance mods and your set. And yea the 3.5L is a nice engine and rated at 265hp, so if you really get a goodd 40hp more thats a very nice amount of power. Not crazy fast but should move it along a bit more. Do they have a s/c for this engine yet? I can't imagine how great the ecoboost edge is going to be.

my girlfriends 07 SES AWD had that seal replaced, it was leaking bad, driping on the exhaust, smoking and all. "quick fix" from the dealer and its all good. the car has been great other wise, moves out pretty good for an suv... i mean crossover. lol

Congrats on the new Edge! They are beautiful cars...I like the MKX too...Ford is just doing a great job, I'm a proud owner!
