please edit your post instead of posting 3 times.
and this is the duratec performance chat, not the escort 1.9L chat. Those type of questions would go in general car chat.

funny you should ask.......back in the day I had a 95 lx....there used to be a great community over at escortracing.com but that has long since disappeared....they had 88hp....I ran a 19.06 et with an atx...as far as performance, I fabbed up a cold air intake that did nothing and looked horrible,...relocated the IAT, and threw a cherry bomb on it....if you were goin to lower the vehicle, order lowering springs for a 91-94 mazda protege. good luck with body kits....search for the australian version of the car...I think it was called a laser....corksport has the stuff for motor swaps. If I remember correctly they used the GT-R motor out of a gtx.....I think....if your lookin for the springs or clear corners, I still have them from my old car....or any other questions....and for what its worth, my scort started my love for fords.....check out zxtuner.com for parts, I think they have some

The 1.9 CVH is the predecessor to the 2.0 SPI. It's actually the same block as the SPI. The differences are larger bored cylinders and the split port induction.
The 1.9 Escort engines are fairly bulletproof. They were very durable and dependable.
I'm not real sure about mods for the 1.9. I used to own a '93 Escort GT with the 1.8 Mazda BP engine, (speaking of a bulletproof engine), so I very familiar with that engine.
There is an Escort site that you can check out:

They have lots of info on the 1.9.
