I know the SVT ones do both, but what about others. Do they all telescope?
Also, what years/models are compatible with each other?

My 03 zx3 has a telescoping and tilt steering wheel.

No they do not. I'm not sure about the telescoping ones but the tilt steering wheels should all be able to be interchangeable with all the model years, except 08+. My brother has an 01 SE and I noticed that its missing the lever/lock that you use for the tilt, yet its the same wheel as mine and has the place for it.

are you saying you've seen tilt columns that don't telescope? because that's what i'm tryin ti figure out- if they exist or not, so that the column i buy does both.

the place for it is on the plastic interior part, but the lever won't be there if the column doesn't tilt

thanks guys.. i'm thinking that all the columns that tilt also telescope.. just wanting to be sure before i buy one

I love the tilt / telescoping wheel ... and I know that my buddies ZX3 doesn't have it.

So I also answer not all foci had that option.

My '07 ZX3 SE has a tilt/telescoping steering column.

The telescoping column was discontinued in the '08-'09 models. (Why Ford.....WHY???)

my car is a 04 zx3 and it has tilt and telescoping. its wierd that you can get the tilt without the telescoping 2. interesting.

Seriously ford. why?

I wouldn't even consider this feature 'tilt' on these newer cars. It's more of a 'slide just enough to call it tilt, but really it's just....enough to piss you off.'

To all car manufacturer's with this so called "Tilt": Stick it up your ass! Give me a car with a real tilting column like you used to!

/rant lol

My '63 T-bird had a "swing away" steering column.

I had a '66 with the swing away column. Pretty cool cars back then! Sequential turn signals in the back, too. Getting into that car was like stepping into a space ship! Shoulda never gotten rid of it.

Brindfan

The '63 didn't have the sequential turn signals. It had the big round jet looking tail lights.

You are right though, getting into the car was like sliding into a cockpit.

I have my wheel pulled out all the way on my car apparently I need longer arms because when I have the seat where its comfy for my legs I don't like how far away my arms are from the steering wheel. I wish the pedals where under the dash a lil bit more for me. My only really big gripe about this car I've had.

^^^Adjustable pedals would have been a nice option.

you think that's bad... now imagine having no telescope and a wheel that is permanently tilted too high, bus driver style- I can't wait to get this thing.
i ordered it last night
