: MBRP or Trubendz
WRCwannabe 03-17-2009, 02:17 PM ok so here i smy exhaust option
2.5" MBRP
or
3" Trubendz
id really like the deepest tone
im going to go ORP also
so i dont want that honda sound.
also what size is the stock svt flex pipe?
volcomstone1966 03-17-2009, 02:25 PM i love my mbrp but i had an orp and it sounded good most of the time
but it was a little on the rice sound, so now im getting a hfc
faster_than_u 03-17-2009, 02:43 PM mbrp 2.5 with orp on mine sounds sweet sounds nothing like a honda at all. it has a slight buzz at 2800-3000 but nothing like the fart of a 1.5 honda
volcomstone1966 03-17-2009, 02:44 PM yah that buzz is what i did not like^^
hardSVT 03-17-2009, 02:56 PM Mbrp
faster_than_u 03-17-2009, 03:04 PM i can drive mine from idle to 5000 now without it buzzing it depends on how you used the gas peddle
BlueFocusSVT04 03-17-2009, 03:53 PM mbrp better fitment similar price
WRCwannabe 03-17-2009, 04:01 PM but i want the deep growl and stuff.
maybe a little burp you know thats why i love cayse's exhaust its so deep sounding
focusonthefocus 03-17-2009, 04:41 PM Hks?
03OrangeSVT 03-18-2009, 10:49 AM Trubendz with the Borla muffler.
WRCwannabe 03-18-2009, 11:26 AM will it bolt up to my stock flex pipe?
hardSVT 03-18-2009, 11:55 AM get magnaflow one of the vendors on here is having a really good deal 335 SHIPPED.
blkthunder 03-18-2009, 12:00 PM apparently Tom saw good gains with a full 3" on an otherwise stock svt. So id say start with that. the 2.5 alone isnt gonna net you enough to justify the cost imo.
When you're in there make sure to clean up all the connections for maximum flow.
egbertnr 03-18-2009, 12:06 PM I think you would be happy with either of those choices...both are good sounding exhaust.
wordyahurdd 03-18-2009, 05:43 PM i got a borla ford racing for 225 shipped a while back
Slow03 03-18-2009, 07:45 PM Yeah go with Borla. It will get you the best sound hands down. I have a MBRP with an ORP and it is very raspy sometimes but sounds good most of the time. You get the idea though. I have NEVER heard anything bad about the Borla sound so that will prob be your best bet.
WRCwannabe 03-18-2009, 11:57 PM to me piping isnt worth 500+ dollars.
borla to me is kinda over rated.
if i was still in highschool and had welding class id do this myself and be happy with it.
but im sticking with trubendz or mbrp.
i might just go with trubendz and get a custom 3" hfc.
and flexpipe.
blkthunder 03-19-2009, 09:25 AM if you're going 3" why bother with a cat? just make sure you get a 3" flex fabricated, a 3" orp and 3" piping with a muffler of your choice with.... 3" INSIDE DIAMETER.
I'd do it on mine with the procharger but im pretty sure im gonna be selling here shortly.
bradshsi 03-19-2009, 10:14 AM I have a MBRP on order, so when I fit it, I'll let you know how easy it was to fit and how it sounds.
WRCwannabe 03-19-2009, 10:53 AM if you're going 3" why bother with a cat? just make sure you get a 3" flex fabricated, a 3" orp and 3" piping with a muffler of your choice with.... 3" INSIDE DIAMETER.

---
because the trubendz 3inch doesnt have a resonator before the muffler.
so the cat will damper some of the sound and riceness
Fast_Ford_SVT 03-19-2009, 11:30 AM you can get a Trubendz 2.5 with a borla muffler
faster_than_u 03-19-2009, 11:58 AM if you're going 3" why bother with a cat? just make sure you get a 3" flex fabricated, a 3" orp and 3" piping with a muffler of your choice with.... 3" INSIDE DIAMETER.
I'd do it on mine with the procharger but im pretty sure im gonna be selling here shortly.
the thing with that is that trubenz uses outside diameter pipe i ordered a 2.5 flex from them and it was not a real 2.5" id. so be forewarned
WRCwannabe 03-19-2009, 12:21 PM ok im going to probably go the cheap route and get a custom exhaust made. from headers back.
so i need to know what muffler should i get, please give partnumber also.
and maybe resonator for after flex pipe cause im going ORP
blkthunder 03-19-2009, 12:34 PM ok im going to probably go the cheap route and get a custom exhaust made. from headers back.

GJ. Now make sure they're mandrel bends and you're straight.
WRCwannabe 03-19-2009, 01:23 PM yeah the place said from headers back with them making a ORP and 3" flexpipe without muffler would be 180.
so if i provide muffler itd be 180.
which i think is a real good deal
faster_than_u 03-19-2009, 03:44 PM ok im going to probably go the cheap route and get a custom exhaust made. from headers back.

id pm CaysE and see what mufflers he used his exhaust sounds bad a$$
WRCwannabe 03-19-2009, 04:51 PM i did like 4 days ago and he never responded
Slow03 03-19-2009, 07:30 PM I am wanting to say all of Cayse's parts are listed. I dont know about the part numbers though. If you are going with a custom setup for sure, def get a Borla muffler.
You are gettin stainless steel right?
headofahessian 03-19-2009, 07:50 PM all of cayse's part numbers are listed search for the thread its in the showroom.
CaysE 03-22-2009, 03:32 PM Hey guys... sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've recently been through a breakup after 3 years and it's been difficult to say the least. But I'm getting myself back on track, so here goes:
...what size is the stock svt flex pipe?SVTF Flex pipe ID: 2.425"
Hks?I don't know why anyone likes the HKS sound. Or the look. I have it on my ZX3 and I hate it, honestly.
Trubendz with the Borla muffler.Didn't you check your 3" kit and found that the mufflers are not 3" ID?
get magnaflow one of the vendors on here is having a really good deal 335 SHIPPED.The Magnaflow kit uses 2.25" ID piping. That is SMALLER than the stock exhaust.
apparently Tom saw good gains with a full 3" on an otherwise stock svt...This is a common misconception. He built 3" exhaust from the header-back. This replaced the cat pipe with what is basically a 3" ORP. The dyno charts he posted look nearly identical to those posted of anyone with an ORP and stock exhaust. It is logical to conclude that no other part of the exhaust had anything to do with the gains he posted.
to me piping isnt worth 500+ dollars.
borla to me is kinda over rated.
if i was still in highschool and had welding class id do this myself and be happy with it.
but im sticking with trubendz or mbrp.
i might just go with trubendz and get a custom 3" hfc.
and flexpipe.I think your best bet would be to just install a CFM HFC, keep the stock flexpipe (it's only 0.075" smaller than the HFC outlet), and build your 3" exhaust off of that. I would go so far as to say that even only using 2.5" for the straight section and first muffler, and using 3" for the second muffler and remaining piping, would still give you the sound you're looking for. I opened up everything after the cat pipe to 3" because I'll be boosting soon, but some 2.5" would be just fine for n/a.
ok im going to probably go the cheap route and get a custom exhaust made. from headers back.
so i need to know what muffler should i get, please give partnumber also.
and maybe resonator for after flex pipe cause im going ORPHere's my thread if you want to check out part numbers. There's a lot of discussion later on about using a different resonator than the one I put in. Mine uses a 6" body, which is a tight fit and scrapes ever so slightly on my driveway. I plan to change it eventually to a 4" body.
