As long as the pump is the same style as stock (return vs. returnless) you shouldn't really have to do much other than check your afr. Minor adjustments might need to be made there especially if you are adding the larger pump due to running lean.

well, i'm thinking that if the pump is the cause of the p1233 code and i have to replace it i'd rather put a 255 lph pump in it so that when i switch to my turbo motor next winter i won't have to drop the tank again. that is if it won't screw thing's up now, it's not worth a new tune. i already got 1 and don't want another till i go turbo.

Dont know where you've been poking but... SVT cobra owners are using two of these focus pumps to make 700+whp, meaning the pumps flow well over 200lph.

110 lph x 2 =220 if there using 2 right? personally i would just go with the aftermarket 255 pump, that's what i'm looking at now. i think the svt focus pump is 255lph. they say it will support 400whp. i did my poking on ebay cause this thread was up all week and nobody told me what i needed.

No, a 200lph pump alone is good for about 350whp give or take

The part numbers for the zetec/svt pumps are exactly the same...

quote from Steve over on FJ...

You might have tested a pump out of an SVT but it's not any different from any other Zetec pump for the same year.

Here are the numbers,

2000 through early 2002 1M5Z-9H307-CA this is also the one used for the pump recall.

Late 2002 2M5Z-9H307-AD this is the one that my '02 SVT has in it.

2003-2004 Zetec 3S4Z-9H307-BC

2003-2004 Duratec 3S4Z-9H307-AB

There is NO SVT specific fuel pump, I looked into this last year and that is correct information.

As for using newer pumps in older tanks, you can probably use the pump "motor" but the actual fuel pump modules will not interchange because they are completely different designs.

ebay info sucks man!!! so is the 255lph pump good for over 400whp? and how would u put 2 of them in there? i'm wondering also if my car has a return line or not. the haynes book shows a return line, but none of the pumps i've seen on ebay (including a svt) had one.

The north american focus is returnless, haynes uses a lot of pictures from european models.

Due to the tank design you can really only use the pump from your car's era (see quoted post above)

There are other issues with fueling that keep the zetec focus platform below that kind of power. And really the only gears you will be able to actually use at 400whp are 4th (maybe) and 5th.

But if you make the switch to a return system then you can make it as high as you want.

how is the return system such an improvement over the non that it supports as much hp as u want. doesn't that style still need a more powerful pump motor like the non to support more hp?
another thing[offtopic] my rail pressure stays around 22psi at an idle is that a sign of an worn out pump? i heard it's supposed to be higher then that.
