It was interesting to note that he states most EV conversions do exceed the GWVR. I agree he probably had a few good reasons to tinker with the conversion.

Number one most likely being that the SPI engine in his 2001 SE dropped a valve seat (have to admit I did not read the entire article) - and the body looks to be in excellent shape as probably is the rest of the car.

I found almost half of the #4 intake valve seat in its intake on our car. Engine stripped - ready to be pulled....
