You know I was thinking about the same thing since they do share trannies. I don't think the flywheel will work due to the crank bolts are probably different. But if the clutch is the same size and fits perfect onto the flywheel it should work. Of course then you come into the problem of price or rebadging they might just slap a different sticker on the MINI's clutch lol. I wonder what others think about this.

But was told that the trannies are similar and can be swapped part for part ... [???:)]

Which begs the question. Do the Cooper S's have the same chatter and issues the SVT's seem to get?

^^I would say no. Cause my mother-in-laws mini that we use sometimes. Does not have the chatter. But the dealership said that her whole tranny needs to be replaced cause you can't down shift into 2nd gear unless you move the shifter just slightly towards 1st then it will go. Small problem esy to work around so they decided to just keep that tranny till it bites it. They want 6000 bucks to replace it. I told her to just find a svtf tranny. Has for the clutchs. If the splines are the same it'll still pprobably use the same disc but has far has flywheels go dunno. I'm not sure if the bolt pattern is the same or not.

No the flywheel is different they will not bolt up correctly.


You can buy a Fidanza Flywheel and have it modified by South Bend Clutch then it will work!

No the flywheel is different they will not bolt up correctly.
^^^Not only that...
The gearing is also different in the Mini's version of the Getrag 285.
Believe it or not, the final drive ratio is even taller in the Minis.
