remove the spare tire, rear seat delete. strip some interior parts. you could convert to manual windows/mirrors if you really want to strip down a few extra pounds.

dude you drive a zx3 right? then your car only ways like 2100lbs so if you can do enough performance mods and get a little into 200whp then it'll be a perfect weight to hp ratio, make it too light and you'll start to torque steer and it gets pretty intense sometimes

What does the driver weigh?

that is a good place to start for some. lol

if you can live without AC that can shave some weight.

Um a zx3 that weights 2100lbs??? Where the hell can I buy one.

Actually your zx3 and any foci weights around 2600 and 2700lbs. Like others have said, the spare tire and all things in the hatch is a good place to start. If you don't carry people in the back ditch the back seats as well. Light weight battery if you want. Other then those you'd have to start going alittle extreme in cutting the weight down. Also, not many people think about this but lighter wheels would help also.

If your taking all the above stuff out, get rid of the rear seat belts, wiper motor and sound deadening material.

the stock curb weight of the zx3 zetec was 2550. I have been able to get my car down to 2300 lbs by removing just about everything possible. but it is going to be my rally car, so its loud. good luck getting ur car to 2100 lbs. i don't think it can be done w/o all CF options, and 6 lb battery. and what does 2000 lbs to 200 whp mean?? how is that the perfect HP/weight ratio??? lol

if you want to get real serious you dont really need the radio/speakers or air conditioning. lol or carpet or sound deadening

lets see um in my car
No plastic front or back and im in a sedan no ac, im trying to find some manual mirrors, use to not have the back seat as soon as I sell it its going goodbye for sure, was going to get rid of the front stock seats if someone wants to trade me for some racing ones.hint hint. and no spare tire but i carry tools with me so that kinda defeated the purpose. did i mention I live in az and have no airconditioning?

DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE WHEELS!!!

You can shed a "blank" load of un-sprung weight by getting some lighter wheels. I think the stock 16" alloys weighed like..... 18 pounds a piece, and the 17" wheels (Euro) weighed like.... 22 lbs or so. If you got some forged 17 inchers, you could get the weight down to like.... 12 lbs a wheel or less, which means like a total of at least 24 lbs of un-sprung weight, which will help your handling and make you that much lighter.

get rid of glass...
use some plastic glass, that is lighter but as strong.
carbon fiber hood and hate is a must...
you can get rid of the dash as well along with the console.
race car never has dash in it...

no weight = no comfort and look
