So I've been looking for a deal for my wife. I don't usually look at dealer ads, but there aren't that many Volvos for sale by owner. Anyone see anything strange about this ad?

The advertiser is not very good at math from what I can see.

Math seems fine. I don't think Volvo made a 4 cylinder did they?

math does not seem fine. the seller is asking for $5000, but if you do his FREE financing you would be paying $9200.00
not to mention his asking price is probably more than half of what the car is worth.

S60's have the 5 cyl, 2.4 in that year, turbo was an available option.

The big problem was the math. I was glad to see this ad so I could prove to my wife how used car dealers- and some new car dealers try to focus people on notes instead of purchase price. Yeah, $9200 is a bit much for an 8 year old Volvo. That's not as bad as a friend who paid (so he thought) $6k for an 00 Cavalier, but his payments were $250 for 48 months, and he put $2k down. Once you get out of that 6-7 year range where the banks won't give you a loan on the car- you'll get screwed buying from a used dealer if you don't know how to add.
