well.. as some of you know, i am moving on to a different car. and selling all my parts that i have for my focus. and was on the search for another car.

and after deliberating with the wife and trying to see what would fit our new family needs. as well as my little bit of the
need for speed and alittle tinkerng with alittle modding.

so here are the specs we needed.

4-door: the focus is a zx3... so its kinda easy to put the baby in the car, but obviously a 4-door would be better.

aftermarket: i wanted a car that had really good aftermarket and a good following behind it

new: whats not to like? lol

Longevitiy: with us just starting our family, i wanted something i knew would be semi bullet proof... and i think we chose it:

yeah... pretty badass... the guys that race in the TDI cup, really thrash the cars...

but one thing that i havent found is, sinse its a diesel, i cant find a picture of a Vdub throwing black smoke like the trucks do... maybe it has a better tune...

The new clean diesels have a "thing" (kinda like a cat) in the exhaust thats supposted to remove most or all of that nastyness (is it carbon? IDK) from the gasses.

Jetta TDI FTW! I've wanted a turbodiesel Jetta for a long time now. Just never got around to buying one lol.

I hate you! Man I love the TDi Jetta. My mom just got one and it's freakin sweet.

Yea like waffles said, the new clean ones don't do the black smoke which I think would be sweet coming out of a car. You can get the muffler/cat thing for trucks now. I saw it on the tv show "Trucks".

[histerical] [histerical] Good one.
No you won't find a VW puffing black because the injector pump just won't let it make any power.

That and low sulfur diesel. More the change in fuel than anything though.

i figured it may be the low sulfer fuel.

but the deffinate plans for when i do get it, shortly. are as follows:

first coilovers. then maybe an intake and a tune, and little odds and ends, but the coilovers, intake and tune will be the big 3 for now.

A buddy of mine has a MkIV TDi with some larger injectors and some other stuff, when he gets on it it blows some pretty serious smoke. It's cool. [thumb]

Jettas are good cars, my rents have two 2003 1.8t. I like the 1.8t over the TDI's but its all about what you need. :D

My gf's parents have a newer tdi jetta not sure the year but fairly new. Its really fun to drive its a manual and I talked her into letting me drive it. Have fun with the car I like the choice. I wouldn't mind if ford brought the tdi cars from europe here.

cool pictures...

and im not sure if i would do streched tires... i probably wont, due to the bodystyle being "larger" the older ones could pull it off, but the wheel wells in the new ones are larger, so i dont think it'll look as good on the newer one like the one i want.

but ill have to start looking deeper into parts and such, when the time gets closer.

and trust me. keeping the focus has deffinately crossed my mind a few times across this. but i just tell myself it'll be better.

and i dont want a mazda 6, for the pure and simple fact, im getting out of the ford family all together... i want something completely new and different to me.
