You are basically looking at the merc version of the 323 gtx that humped a miata. Rumor has it that you can mod this turd to run low 13's at about 16psi. Wouldnt that be funny?

Thinking that if the frame is straight, this would be a really fun project. Can't say enough about the gtx, so I won't say anything at all. If I wasnt unemployed right now, I would be out looking at it.

Sounds like that guy doesn't really want to get rid of that Mazda.

the capri really is a turd(a FWD turd at that). $2500 will get you a decent(not mint) early miata, which was a MUCH better car.

my sister used to have a capri and from what i remember it wasnt much larger on the inside than my miata. it did have a virtually unusable backseat though.

If your buddy is willing to fly out and buy it, I would go with him to check it out. All you have to do is get a hold of me and I will drive him out to see it. Believe me that mazda would be in my garage if I had a job right now. It's been a dream car of mine for years.

As for the Capri, I just thought it was funny. I saw that it came with a factory turbo and laughed about the possibilities it would hold. Then I started looking around and found a guy who threw an intake, exhaust, and a MBC on his and was making 15psi, lol. I got a chuckle out of the idea of making a 13 second car out of that POS. The shame it would bring ... priceless.

Craigslist holds so many, "what if" projects. So evil to just casually surf.

It would be easier to just get a first gen mx6/probe. Our turbos are small and they use our turbos as an upgrade for theirs.
