does anyone know if the hks hi power cat back for the svt focus is the canister muffler already angled or do you have to get it angled?

Looks are subjective with the HKS, but yes it's already angled.

if he was asking about welding a can on side ways then i could see why you would say rice. But he's asking about an HKS system which isn't really ricey at all. Ive heard plenty of clips from other FFers with "non-rice" on and they sound like shit compared to hks.

ya it sounds alright i guess but it looks so bad(not in a good way)

The can just does not look good on the Focus, if only the sound came without that ridiculous tilted booger on the end.

Doesn't matter if its HKS or not, anybody that sees it will call it a fart can.

If you like it though, by all means get it.

everyone has there opinions on the looks i agree the can is a little out of place on a focus, but they sound awesome. I had one on my old zx3 and it sounded a shitload better than my exhaust on my SVT i have now.

At least you'll know it's gonna be pretty decent quality. It'll come with the HK$ price tag... but oh well.

i like the way they look and yes it does come with and angle. has to be angled due to the piping running under the supension instead of over it. kinda reduces restrictions which most companys with decent R&D will try there best to make there exhaust as high flow as possible by reducing unneeded bends. i have a similar set up on my svt and love it. dont understand all the sterotype among focus owners about (quote FART CANS) just because retards with DX civics put cold air intakes on there 1.5L SOHC engines dosent make all cold air intakes ricey. so why if they weld mufflers on there car does it automaticly make them rice. yeah they sound like shit when you weld a 2.5 ID muffler onto a car with 1.5ID stock exhaust but hell it will sound the same with any muffler even a borla. my set up sounds damn near the same as it did with the borla cat back i had. bad part is ive heard zx3's with catbacks from companys like MBRP, magnaflow, and borla that sounded like raspy shit and not much diff then the ricey hondas everyone is ready to point fingers at and laugh. just some food for thought

oh yeah and id go with an HKS if it would line up with my exhaust opening on my rear bumper

I have HKS and I like it. The truth is HKS put a lot of r&d into their products. You will see a slight performance gain with it. If the gain is noticeable or not has been argued on here for days. That debate is hopelessly stupid. People should buy what they like and be happy. I have seen a lot of ricey cars lots of them mustangs and focus's. Any car can be ricey in the wrong hands. Good luck with your choice.

svt system = over rear subframe, zx3 = under rear subframe

i was wondering if i could do a custom hks exhaust.. something like a hks sounding exhaust but with OE looks is that possible?

Couple questions.

1) I heard to get the stock exhaust system out you have to cut it. I read somewhere u can't just unbolt it out. (I have a 2.3l)

2) I also read somewhere that with an HKS exhaust it removes the cat. So how does the car run without that 2nd O2 plug??

hks exhaust doesnt remove the cat its a cat back exhaust

svtcliff

and yes if im not mistaken you have to cut all focus factory exhaust to remove them. either that or remove your entire rear suspension. the exhaust is installed before the rear suspension in the factory and is a one peice flex pipe back.

haha thats my thread!!! i love my HKS exhaust requardless of what everyone says about how ricey it looks it really doesnt and isnt. Its deep and not raspy at all like all the other aftermarket and stock SVT exhaust is. Also its different then what most ppl have but it sounds like its becoming more popular *sigh*

yea man i agree like i said i used to have one and it sounded great. Like 90% of the people bashing the HKS for it being "rice" have their borla and magnaflow exhaust which sound real ricey compared to this system.

im sorry its jus looks ricey because of the huge ass pipe on the end looks silly and how does borla sound ricey but ok good one
