: New blown svt ??

Just received my new issue of muscle mustangs and fast fords and there is a spy picture from dearborn of two factory svt sporting lifted hoods with innercoolers ( forgot to bring the mag to work to give you the page number). The quick blurb said there were three of them, one was sporting a full cage ( test mule? ). They felt that they may have been blown.
I feel a relationship between the vortech coming out, the fact that steeda can redo the computer to factory standards and the fact that the cars seen in dearborn had innercoolers ( that rules out the jrsc, which was my first guess ) a pretty good guess as to what may be under the hood. Stay tuned.

Please give me an ATX. All these awesome cars are only made with an MTX. I guess I would just have to have a relly nice built tranny.

Yep, always possible.

apparently the svt itself wasn't doing as well as planned, so they had thought more and more about bringing the RS over here, or at least a form of it, as the "next" svt. guess we'll have to wait and see.

Lets just hope Ford will step up to the plate. So far we are very far behind the competition in terms of engine performance.
i would def buy a 22k ford focus sedan with 220 (or more) hp...
just a srt4 and all import beater...
but the focus RS is an expensive beast...30k in europe...that would be almost the same here...
and thats too much for a HB....it would be the same fate that awaits the new GTI with 200+ hp...
my .02 c !

If they keep the SVTF's price as is and turbocharge it, we can finally compete with that damn NEON, yes it's just a NEON!
If this rumor is true then that will be my next car, screw the WRX.

These guys new about the marauder, the blown cobra, and the shaker hood mach 1 before they came out, so there is a good chance they are right on this one !!....I hope so, especially if it is close to srt-4 in price that would be awesome,

a guy at Carmax not to long ago said the 2005 Focus will be 235hp Turbo charged with a Mazda engine =\ i was like um ok....

why u guys so worried about stock? sorry i am the engine swap kinda of person , when i see a car i only think about what i can take out and put in
10-14-2003, 05:15 PM
Because a Focus isn't a Honda, you don't do swaps unless it's with a V8, which isn't practical.

o and i didnt mean that ....... ok in a rude way i just had noting to say. and i was thinking old school cars not hondas bah

I see, well unfortunatly the options for motor swaps in a Focus are minimal, therefore we must rely on some decent factory engines to mod.
10-14-2003, 06:35 PM
how good can u mod these engines? sorry i dont any thing about these cars really ,+ i dont know to much about ford i guess u could say i wasnt raised ford but thats all i am saying about that on these forms [:D]

The focus seems to take to mods well, look at what some om this board have done...also, I believe ford wanted to build an econobox and put some style and handling in it so they could catch the new sport compact scene, which the focus is starting to do quite well, it will never equal the almighty honda for the fast and furious crowd, but I think it is coming along well, look at the various turbo kits and there is more than one blower offered for it, pretty good track record so far..!!! I know I like mine![:D]

Several years ago MM&FF was THE magazine for the Mustang crowd. I assume this is still true.
They always had the scoop and they were usually right concerning upcoming products.
And I can't forget the test on the S351 Saleen. They ran like a 10.50 (on slicks) and Motor Trend couldn't get out of the 13's. Yeah, they were on slicks, but at least they had the balls/brains to realize that there was a HUGE discrepancy by not doing so.
As I have said before. If you like the idea of a blown SVT, send them an e-mail. If you can't find it, e-mail MM&FF.
There have been several cars that have made it to production, or made ist sooner, because of consumer interest; Viper, Ford GT, Impala SS, Prowler, TBird, Chevy SSR, etc.
If you like something, be sure to let the manufacturer know, they will listen if enough of us are talking![thumb]

Good point oldschool, the mach1 was partially built because of mm & ff and their readers, I think after this post I'll send an email to the svt guys,..I have been in the place ( once) with a highpowered kawasaki rep, where a suggestion was made about a bike and he actually said to us, hey, I'll suggest that, and sure as Sh%& it was on there next year, and I was standing there when it was suggested...really cool.
Now if the svt guys will just build the blown model in a ztw or at least a zx5 ( more likely), its not just kids buying these things, us older guys have the money, if you can catch our interest.
