: 1999 SVT Contour - OEM Filter vs. Amsoil stock replacement filter Dyno
HTP Designer 02-01-2009, 03:38 PM HTPerformance has brought on board Amsoil products, but rather than taking Amsoil's word and data for being accurate, we decided to do some of our own. The graph below speaks for itself.
Expect more Dyno data threads to continue to pop up in the HTPerformance forum![:)]

Tantalus 02-01-2009, 06:22 PM We were all surprised that a stock-replacement drop in filter could add 5-6 HP, but being there, it was true. They did a few pulls before swapping the filter, and a few after, and got the same difference in power between all the pulls.
The awesome thing is, Jason totally called 160whp before the car went on the dyno :D
RhodySVT 02-01-2009, 07:04 PM Very cool, 6whp from a filter change is a pretty big deal!
toeycrack 02-01-2009, 08:59 PM nice!! i would love that 6 hp in my car!!
i remember you guys talking to me about a dry Cone filter? did you guys do any pulls with that on the fofo?
HTP Designer 02-02-2009, 12:40 PM Yes we did with great success. We will be posting up the dyno soon! [:)]

AMSOIL is the ONLY company in the market that is offering the superior performance of nanofiber technology air and oil filtration.
If you guys would like to order filters, check out the group buy/group discount section: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2564358#post2564358
If you see how well we did with just changing a filter, how much will changing the other fluids in your car help?! Only one way to find out. Try them out!

HTPerformance 02-04-2009, 01:07 PM Great testamonial besthaticouldo! You point out some key things that AMSOIL products tackle.
By using the best performing products you are able to extend your change intervals and wreak every penny out of oil, oil filter, and air filter changes, not to mention all of the gear lube and in Derrick's case transfer case and differential lube changeovers.
You are very welcome Derrick! Glad to help you out.

besthaticouldo 02-04-2009, 01:31 PM yea...and let me tell you there is a LOT of fluid in the jeep
oil
trans fluid
t-case fluid
coolant
PS fluid
brake fluid
front diff fluid
rear diff fluid
its crazy lol
thanks guys!
funtodrive06 02-12-2009, 01:38 PM here's another testomonial, i have an 03 F150 that used jerk when I put it in Drive, after adding AMSOIL ATF I can't even feel it going into gear, and then I just take my foot off of the brake and it starts moving. so smooooth!
BTW, I've been an AMSOIL dealer for 25 years
warneej 03-09-2009, 09:53 PM this dyno was with the air filter correct? or with all amsoil fluids/filters
you should also do an overlay with a K&N panel filter on your dyno so people can see the potential gains over the "tried and true" SVT performance filter.
HTPerformance 03-09-2009, 10:01 PM Yes this was only an air filter, no changes were done to the rest of the system.
I'd have to run all three filters again to do a proper comparison. Different day, different conditions.
warneej 03-10-2009, 03:06 PM how about doing it in your SVT focus? oh wait, didn't you trash the motor in that?

Buickboy 03-10-2009, 09:58 PM did you guys ever post up numbers for your yellow car using the 3" intake? just curious
HTPerformance 03-10-2009, 10:56 PM Not yet. We are doing road testing now. Will keep you posted.
Buickboy 03-11-2009, 08:42 PM ok,thanks!

Red01Focus 03-17-2009, 06:08 PM would the cone filters be better than the k&N cone or even the injen cone filter for the cold air intakes?
HTPerformance 03-17-2009, 06:29 PM They are better than the filters supplied with the Injen intakes, as Injen has partnered with AMSOIL to supply an intake solution now with the Ea filters only available for certain models through AMSOIL dealers. I have not personally yet tested the K&N for a comparison, but even without looking at the performance difference, the Ea Filtration due to its nano-fiber construction protects the motor significantly more than any of the options currently on the market. That in itself is the key component, and any performance gain beyond that is an added bonus!
Red01Focus 03-18-2009, 12:19 PM good to know, thinking i might pick one up then..just gotta find out the size
mikefocus 03-21-2009, 11:25 PM don't forget to mention these filters are dry
you get the performance and protection with out slinging oil all over the mass air flow sensor.
if you have ever over oiled a K&N you know what I am talking about.
I just ordered one these to replace the K&N I have right now.
that way I dont have to worry about oil.
and that Blue looks a lot better than the pinkish K&N
HTPerformance 05-11-2009, 10:31 AM good to know, thinking i might pick one up then..just gotta find out the size
Do you need a stock replacement? Or a universal cone type?
gemini47 07-19-2009, 01:38 AM ahh good! this is the kind of testing i like to see!! good job HTP!
HTPerformance 07-20-2009, 01:31 PM One of our Nissan customer's replaced his existing dry-flow cone with an AMSOIL Ea Nanofiber filter and one of our Billet MAF Adapters: See below for his results and comments.

"I swapped out my Apexi/Frankencar intake for one of these Amsoil filters and a HTPerformance MAF adaptor. Gains are good all around, im happy with it. Also the HT adaptor is better designed than the Frankencar in that it's less complicated and lighter. The Amsoil filter is larger than the Apexi yet this setup is lighter by a pound or so.
The graph is SAE corrected and was done in 4th gear." - Joe (98SEBlackMax) (http://forums.maxima.org/7114794-post83.html)
Robotaz 08-06-2009, 03:58 PM Why is there no Ea air filter for the '08-'09?
HTPerformance 09-10-2009, 08:26 AM Why is there no Ea air filter for the '08-'09?
This filter looks to be in development, I have inquired about a production date.
Until then we can get you replacement WIX filter - P/N 49890 for your 08+ Focus.
Mav3rick21 10-28-2009, 12:07 AM can i put this amsoil filter to my 2000 zx3??
HTPerformance 10-28-2009, 10:23 AM Yes we have panel replacement filters for the stock box, and also cone filters for any aftermarket intake setup.
Send me a PM if you'd like to purchase one.
SVTRSST 12-24-2009, 03:09 AM so any dyno with a svt focus and an amsoil air filter :P ?
HTPerformance 12-25-2009, 12:23 PM You are welcome to drive up and we can test it! :) Merry Christmas!
