Hi everyone,

As the title states, I just got my 2007 ZX3 the other day. I bought this car with the intention of doing upgrades and such. I live in Southern California and I loooooove the canyon drives and I love them even more with a car that can handle the twists and turns. I'm somewhat new to doing mods on a car as my last car was an Infiniti I30 and wasn't able to do much with it but I know a little about cars because it is in a mans blood, lol. I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips or point me in the right direction (web sites). I want to see what I can do to the engine, exhaust, and maybe some light body work, nothing crazy. Any advice would be great as I haven't been able to find much.

Well if you wanna do Canyon Runs..U would deffinatly have to Upgarde your entire Suspension NOT too Crazy...but at least get Sway Bars, Lowering Springs/Coil-overs, Struts....Good Brakes too!

I also have a 07 ZX3 and you can see everything thats down in the signature block. I've also put in the exedy stage 2 clutch. The FS stage 2 turbo kit is very nicely matched to the duratec.

Suspension wise, the H&R lowering springs and koni shocks and struts are good upgrades. As well as the tower strut bars.

He's definitely making a good point about tires. I suggest the new tire from Bridgstone, the RE760 sports. They have a hard wall and a semi-slick outer tread for better cornering and stability, while not sacrificing tread life.

ah, gotcha! Yeah, sorry for assuming it was a standard. I got your PM while I was typing that reply, lol.

Mind I recommend to try autox. It will incredibly increase your daily driving skills and help you find out the true limitations of your car, in which case you can get a feel for how it handles and begin to mod depending on what you like and dislike.

For Suspension, I personally love my Saleen Kit, which is pretty much the same as the Roush Kit but good luck finding one of them as they are discontinued. But they also give you sways as well. If you want a real nice suspension for canyon runs, go with the H&R Coilover Kit, I think it runs about $1K but well worth it IMO.

As for the CAI, I love the Cosworth, but once again, good luck finding one as they are discontinued, K&N and FocusSport both make a good CAI though.

Thanks guys, very helpful! I'm lookin for more handling mods than speed. Smithboy suggested www.focussport.com and I think I'm going to get the H&R Sport suspension (and sway bars too) from there. Once I become a rich, college kid in the future I'll get the H&R coil over kit.

Also, does anyone know where to get head & tail lights? And door handles, lol. idk why, but I can't stand the ones that are on there.

Yeah, I've never liked the factory head and tail lights. I'm going to black out my tail lights and for my head lights, I bought a set of eagle eyes off ebay for a good price.

oooo...that looks sick! I thought about getting the DIY tinted tail lights kit but I saw some ricer yesterday with them and it looked like sh!t. Granted his car looked bad to begin with and he probably didn't do it right haha.

P.S. Turtle wax SUCKS on black paint. I only used a little bit on a small spot on my car to see how it would look after a couple of days and the only spot that's dirty on my car is where I put that wax.

Yeah the FF Server is a bit on the dark side. Yeah, turtle wax is a good wax on any color except black. I use Black Magic. [;)]

I looked around for a while for euro headlights for the 07 model but could never find anything for a decent price and then I came across those on ebay. Wasn't even looking for headlights that day either.
