: So... I'm Back!!!
07FocusST 01-24-2009, 11:12 PM For those of you who followed me leaving FF not to long ago, I traded my Turbo ST for a 2008 Ram. That was about a week ago. Funny thing is, today I got a phone call from the Dealership asking me to come down with the truck. So I head down thinking maybe they got my spare key or floormats I have been waiting for.... Not even close!
Come to find out one of the Techies at the dealership noticed that I had drilled into the oil pan for the oil return line for the turbo, keep in mind I told them that it was a custom turbo'd focus, so they started asking me why I didn't mention that to them. Of course I was thinking about all the SRT-4's they had and wanted to point it out but I had a feeling I was fighting a losing battle. I told them that in order for a turbo to work that it needs to return oil to the pan.
Next thing I know they asked me to come inside to talk to the General Manager. Basically after 2.5 hours of arguing they told me that the sales contact for the Ram was VOID and gave me my keys back to the Focus. What a bunch of B/S if you ask me. I left about 500 miles worth of rubber on the ground of my precious Pirelli's.[burnout] I am so disappointed, but at the same time glad because I couldn't find one Forum as good as FF!!!
Keep up the great work and I plan on fixxing up the custom turbo a little more in the near future!![driving]
bringler26 01-24-2009, 11:20 PM That is dumb. Welcome back I read about you buying in the other thread lol.
loudfocus01 01-24-2009, 11:27 PM Wow dude, So are you keeping the focus this time for good?
07FocusST 01-24-2009, 11:32 PM Yes, for good. I don't want to go through this crap again. Possibly thinking about getting a second car when I get to Washington State. Possibly a Fox Mustang or 60's Mustang. Maybe even consider a 5.0L swap for the focus???
isaac_in_tx 01-24-2009, 11:46 PM damn, that kinda sucks, but hey, u got ur focus back
stoopidsteve87 01-24-2009, 11:49 PM Wow. Seriously though, when a dealer is taking a car with that kind of custom stuff done to the motor...what do they expect? Oh well.
hardSVT 01-24-2009, 11:55 PM u and the foci were went to be.
LiveT 01-25-2009, 01:36 AM That sucks/is good. they shouldn't have been able to do that. you can't take the truck back because you noticed that they drilled a hole in the floor plan. Go talk to the owner, complain, get free viper!
focusin 01-25-2009, 02:05 AM That really is crap, when you buy a car its always AS IS and they DAMN sure don't tell you whats wrong with it. WTF makes it any different when you sell the car?
Either way welcome back.
07FocusST 01-25-2009, 10:02 AM I know it is all B/S, but I am not about to start getting crazy about it. Deployed today so there isn't much I can do
TommyBlackST 01-25-2009, 10:43 AM w/b and stay safe
toeycrack 01-25-2009, 11:21 AM well the stealership was just watching thre own ass.....
if they sold the focuis and for some odd reason that the oil return line comes loose causing turbo overheating then failuair. it would be on their ass....
but in our view, its better for us, we got you back....!!! hehehe
BigRed03 01-25-2009, 11:29 AM youd think with the way chrysler is struggling like that, they wouldn't have cared...
anywho, welcome back!!!
DrkKnight614 01-25-2009, 11:47 AM Yea right haha, can't believe they took it back. SO what happened? did they give you all your money back and everything. What happens with your credit now, does that get screwed up? Glad your back, i had a tear when you sold the focus for a RAM....waste if you ask me unless you need a truck.
Waffles ZX3 Kona Sport 01-25-2009, 11:47 AM I hate dealerships.
i had a tear when you sold the focus for a RAM....waste if you ask me unless you need a truck.
Agree. If you need any truck, it should be a new F150.
sctrooperlx 01-25-2009, 11:50 AM X2^^ Its allways the same you have junk they have gold! There cars have nothing wrong with them and yours runs like crap.Same story anywhere you go,I hate going to dealerships when im looking for a new car.
07FocusST 01-25-2009, 01:17 PM LOL... I feel the same way. Although if they did happen to sell the car and something broke then it would be their a$$. The fact that it isn't a factory turbo'd car makes it even harder for them to fix. I liked the Ram, although I am more of an F-150 myself... I couldn't pass up all the rebates on the Ram. I will keep working on the focus when I get to Washington and get it tuned the right way. Still kind of scary to drive w/o a proper tune. Also looking at swapping out the IHI for the Ford/Garrett T-3 in the SVO mustang. Then re-doing the downpipe.
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone! Definitally feel welcome here, well maybe welcome'd back is more like it. :)
sporadic 01-29-2009, 06:17 PM Hey, welcome back. I saw you on the other guy's thread and just hadn't come across this one.
That Garrett T3 I bought turned out to be junk and the wrong size A/R so I sold it.
For now I'll stick with the IHI since it runs just fine and maybe this Fall do the Garrett thing.
07FocusST 01-29-2009, 08:33 PM figures ^^^!
DrkKnight614 01-31-2009, 01:31 PM When you move to washington you could always drive down to cali and pay a visit to focus sport. I'm sure they'll help you out with your turbo needs.
..:: sleestak ::.. 01-31-2009, 02:00 PM I hope you learned your lesson, mister. Never trade a turbo focus for a giant ol' truck.[smackbum]
