just finished my first art project for my art 101 class...

there were NO specifications for the project, only thing it couldnt have was shapes that we instantly identify (stop signs, hearts) basic things that you would know right away what it meant...

I am the circle, on one side is reality, real live, chaos... i have my guards up trying to keep the chaos out and let order be my life, but as you can see chaos is primary part of the piece and the dots carry outside the lines meaning without chaos you cant have order.... i dono i think it turned out ok considering we had no direction at all...

I can certainly appreciate your meaning behind it. Nice work. [thumb]

yeah i can draw when i have something TO draw... this was very very hard for me to just kinda let the brush flow and do the chaos thing and generally having no real assignment made it tough...

thanks for the comments

That looks really cool. Nice work. [thumb]

I can't draw for shit, unless its straight lines and I have a straight edge, or a compass for circles, etc. I do want to get into photography more; which my college has classes on so I may take one next semester. I took a photography class in HS where we used 35mm camera and developed the pictures ourselves (B+W, looked cool as hell).

i wanted to take photography classes here but you have to be a major to take them so thats lame... if i was here longer id be taking them because i took an art major for a semester to get more credits...

It is lame, but nice for photography majors. I know a girl who was a Photography major at Buffalo State and she had to stay a fifth year just because the photo classes filled up so quick with students who wanted an easy class.

Very abstract! I took Art 113 last semester.

I tend to outline when i draw. so whatever i draw doesnt look as three dimensional as it should be. I gotta learn to shade more to get more depth lol.

Maybe im dirty minded (dont judge me! [paranoid] ) but it looks like an upskirt pic [scratch] .

No offense.

I too want to take photography. Most of my photography skills were trial and error. I would have to transfer though.

I'm an art major :-)

Kind of funny but the top part looks like sperm a little bit, at the microscopic level, lol!

You said that's paint? Kinda looks like Sharpie a bit. What is your major/concentration?

^^You can see it's paint, if you look closely you can see the paint strokes.

This is for my 3d design class, doing additive and reductive process with wood( you can really see the additive process in the crank arm section, but the pedal is also 3 pieces made into 1).... its a 25tooth sprocket, crank arm and pedal off a bmx bike, everything is to scale, sprocket is 1/16th off actual size, crank arm is 1/2" to long, and pedal is pretty much dead nuts on but i ran out of time to cut more out of the side...

had a class critique today on this 3d project, my professor really liked it, the class wanted to touch it, it was the only "realistic" project everyone elses was really abstract so im glad i went this rout, makes me stand out from the class
