Ok i got this paperwork in the mail and didn't know what to do about it. due to i don't want to sing something and some one is trying to take my car and i cant do any thing about it. but looking over the inter net at the addresses are real and the business come up and it seams to be legit.
the big thing is that this letter doesn't reference to me by my first name when ford has my name on file for just punishing a car.
and when i called the number it gave me a basic answering matching, no automated system like you would with almost anything you would do with a manufacturer
400 Etiwanda Ave Ontario, CA 91761 is the address that i am suppose to send it to and google comes up with it being Automotive Testing & Development Services Inc
i posted the doc and what they want to fill out it is probably just me being paranoid but i thought i see what every one have to say
if you cant read it let me know and i will type it out

There's no requests for any information that could hurt you (that shouldn't be public info already), so I'd guess this is really from Ford. If they ask for financial info in a follow up letter, run like the wind.

Looks legit to me. I just wouldn't have them come to my house if you are that paranoid. They don't ask for any personal info....so to me it looks legit.

looks good i mean if they ask for any more info then run like the wind.. and if your still paranoid just go to your dealer they prolly know something..

There tracking Particular data on owned vehicles that are run day to day.. most likely there checking how the engine is performing, the running of the catalyst system and vehicle data.. basically what there saying we need your data from the car because our lab tests are controlled and tell us nothing we don't already know
there is a possibility that there checking up on a discovered flaw on the vehicle to see if there any effects/ill effects to the vehicles safety and running but won't tell you about it till they see a number of cars show the symptoms...
its basically harmless you take your car there let them take it into there shop they perform a bunch of tests/checkup give you $50 for your time and give you the car back
P.S. Please edit out your address from the picture

I also failed to mention when it comes to Emission and control systems that the government has strict rules about emissions.. they (Ford) will ALWAYS use a outside Shop so the government cannot pin the blame to Ford that they Falsified/Rigged the readings
From the address I believe there targeting Cali Cars only because they have the most STRINGENT rules out there for emissions and catalyst systems... they probably found a problem that will cause the cars to fail when tested and there looking to see the degree and what lines are effected...
basically from everything read there preparing a recall on certain lines/lots of Focus's that will need an update eventually to repair something to bring the Emissions back into specs

I did that once for mitsubishi with my eclipse and they gave me 450 to do it. All they did was put my car up on a lift at the chrysler dealer and like 11 jap guys where all over underneath it inspecting it. never told me what they wanted to know or what they where looking for but I didnt care. They didnt touch the car but just looked so it was all good with 450 cash when i left.
