: to mod or not to mod that is the ?
trboescortgeorge 01-15-2009, 06:43 AM for those that can realisticly own the rs that has a high chance of coming to the states do u carry on with ur dreams to finish modding ur current foci or kick them to the curb for new dreams of owning an rs. for instance i want a kw setup and upgraded clutch maybe even fi, but do i stop all that and just maintain reg maint for the rs in 2010 or 2011 which is an eternity away.[:)] what if the rs does not come. then what? waited so long for nothing. openonion[joke] please. not on my situation just general. (yes i knew what i wrote)
Templar 01-15-2009, 06:49 AM I plan of finishing my curerent projects, and seeing what happens. i just won't open any more cans of worms... I'll probably keep my current car and keep moding it but ive ad it since 03 and it would not trade for what it is worth to me...
Yocrew 01-15-2009, 09:47 AM The question is how many people will be able to afford one when and "IF" they ever come here. I honestly don't see ford bringing them over here. And honestly, for the price of one you could get more power out of your current car for less.
norcalfocus01 01-15-2009, 09:50 AM i would stop with the current car and focus on the RS. If I get a RS it will be a hobbie car, not a daily driver.
jgustafson 01-15-2009, 09:52 AM I would trade in the SVT, no need to keep it anymore with a better Focus out there. That is of course if the price is reasonable, if its 35k like in that other thread than no thanks, there are much better cars for that kind of money.
mlbbaseball 01-15-2009, 10:31 AM I'd keep the RS as a DD, and boost the crap out of my focus now, if i don't finish it for rally that is.
DarkFire1986 01-15-2009, 11:03 AM Don't think you've got much to worry about...

However, If it were to happen, I'd keep the Focus as a DD and keep the RS sexy.
SVT_BMXer 01-15-2009, 11:48 AM I doubt I'd buy an RS anyways (not that I don't like them) so I wouldn't worry much about it. I've my eye on BMW's next.
sctrooperlx 01-15-2009, 11:54 AM I am going to keep my svt it will be paided off this month and mod it, and then if the RS does make it over here i will be getting into a car payment again ;)
Templar 01-15-2009, 12:07 PM Yeah for 35 k i don't think i would be in the market for wrong wheel drive i mean FWD
Captain Moonpie 01-15-2009, 09:25 PM I am going to continue to mod both. Boost the hell out of both of them and have both as DD's
kenzx3 01-15-2009, 11:49 PM George, I would mod mine till I buy an RS, then still keep modding the '07. Hell I still mod my '03 even though it is now my sister's. I know I've caught the Mod bug but my car will never be complete, there will always be that one thing I know I will want for the '07. Hell like a few other Mid-Atlantic folk I plan to grow old with the '07 and probably never sell it, it means too much to me and I've had that one just over a year. I'll end up with a few others, the "old" senior members in the crew reminiscing on the first FocusFest and other past meets of back when.
But honestly, keep Modding yours man, it's really starting to look good and I look forward to seeing it at Carlisle this year [thumb]
trboescortgeorge 01-16-2009, 09:26 AM yes i want to be part of focus rising. ----------------
i hear folks saying that theres better cars out there for the price. i see where ur coming from (evo-sti) but theres nothing out there thats a 2dr hatch. its like manufactures have fogotten about them. what happen to the term hot hatch. thats why when i recked my 91 escort turbo(300whp) i bought a svt. nothing else out there. i got excited when i seen a 2dr hatch sti concept but thats all it is, maybe. the c30 is nice. im one of those guys that not a fan of 4dr hatch or mini wagons. i know there for the guy who has a family and still wants to have fun, but go buy an suv and get a sports car on the side. i had my escort first then when i had my kids got a xterra sc and then when i wanted to go faster got a r1. loved the mk5 r32 which i think is the big bro to the focus i think they look so much alike but not enuff power, but awd. when it was said to come to the states it was suppose to have a 3.6 and dsg tranny, then they water it down. speed3 definite but mini wagon.hope the rs comes to the states wish it could of been a awd set up but oh well maybe the next gen will be
my escort
