I got a 2007 ZX4 about 2 weeks ago, and really just got my chance to drive it a good amount over the past two days. I had to drive it up to Arkansas from Florida... a 14 hour drive. I really appreciated a few things about it:
a) It's roomier than I thought. I was able to fit all my stuff for school in the car with ease. The trunk is pretty cavernous and there was lots of room in the back seat for everything else. I ended up not even coming close to full capacity.
b) The seats are comfortable, and didn't leave me aching after marathon drives
c) I averaged about 33mpg on the trip, going between 70 and 80 through the rolling hills of North Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama with the car packed with probably 300-400 pounds of stuff. This is huge because I'm used to 25mpg with my old car on the highway (and 16mpg in town!!!). Just putzing around town, I manage about 28mpg.
d) The 2.0L zetec packs a lot more power than I'd imagined. Coming from a van with a big 3.8L V6, I thought I was going to have trouble getting up hills and whatnot, but I was very surprised when the car didn't even have to downshift to go up hills or to pass on the highway, despite the extra weight. It seems to have a very wide power band.
I'm very happy with my new car.
