I am thinking about chaning my tranny fluid. My car has a little over 50,000 miles and I checked the tranny fluid and it's quite low. I was just going to add some but I might as well replace all of it. However, i have never changed the tranny oil on a Focus. Can an average joe do it? i have an auto tranny.
Also, what is a good kind of tranny oil to buy?
Any help would be great!

Yeah I think you can do it pretty easily, this is coming from a guy who never has owned an auto though.

have the dealership do it,... They didn't wanna replace mine cuz the oil was burnt that they ended up replacing gears 3and 4 under powertrain warranty and mine is also an 05 but with 60k on it and auto too to top it off LOL. All I had to pay was the $100 deductible which basically replaced my tranny with new parts and new oil/filter for $100 bux. Excuseanytypos or spces. I'm on my phone

It's not hard.
Change the filter while you're at it.
