Go with a grey. Black wheels are so overdone...

OK, is this really even a contest?

Go black young man! I have a silver 2003 FSVT with the black EAP wheels. I took off the Dark Argent (aka Grey) wheels and the car now looks meaty and agressive.

Whatever color you decide to go with, go with powder coating and a satin finish (v. flat or glossy).

If you want a snapshot of my vehicle to see what black wheels on silver body looks like, I'd be happy to send you one. Email me at tmgolden@pacbell.net

Trust me, you will not be disappointed with Black wheels.

Everyone has black wheels nowadays.... Even UPS trucks....

^^^Agreed! Bronze would be the sex on that car.

Yes, in retrospect, I guess bronze would be OK. Especially, if one accessorized with a matching red, white, and blue cape and a gold headband!

And Jetrinka, I'm willing to bet you $5 that my UPS truck can beat up your UPS truck! ;-)

black wheels look like winter steel wheels from 10 feet away. dont get black. id say either bronze, gold, or white

faster_than_u, OK I guess I could also agree that white would look good as well. I am also very proud to say that I am one of 'your 8%.' Rap music should only be permitted when injected into metalcore; otherwise, it's just trash.

I've been pondering the possibility of blue wheels with my silver ZX3 . . . probably be a while before I do anything, though.

Here are a few possible looks for your SVT:

Here are a few other options:

Here are a couple of less flashy options in blue (using a darker color of blue):

Looking at these pics, I think the one with the black centers and the silver rim is my personal favorite.

Most folks would use Photoshop -- I use Paint Shop Pro, which is very similar to Photoshop.

A very nice, full-featured and best of all FREE alternative is a neat little program called Gimp:

Very nice program, compares well to things like Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop, slick and easy to use, hard to believe it's free.

I used Photobucket to post the pictures -- I used Paint Shop Pro to EDIT the images and do the color manipulation and such.

Glad to help!

On the subject of wheels, trboescortgeorge requested that I do some image manipulation for him to show him what his blue SVT would look like with black wheels, so I hope you don't mind a little thread-jacking (though this is still on-topic since we're talking wheel colors and such, I suppose):

I kind of like this look with a red lip -- probably tougher (or pricier) to achieve, though:

I went with black. When I bought my 2002 SVTF I also bought a second set of wheels and snow tires. Well, it's been several years and the wheels for the snow tires were looking sad...lot of scraps and dings and the clear coat was getting goofy. I believe that was caused by road salt/brine. It probably didn't help that I do not clean my car too often during the winter. Instead of buying new wheels I took some sand paper to the clear coat, went to the Kmart and bought some $2 semi-gloss black and went to town. The finish came out good...I think anyhow. I'm a cheap Polock so it kills me to spend more money than I have to...especially for tires that I only use for about 4 months or so. I'm curious to see how well the finish holds up...time will tell!
