As of tonight I now have an Impulse Blue 2004 GTO to go with my Sonic Blue SVT. [:D] It needs a little cosmetic detailing, still in good shape but obviously not owned by someone as obsessive-compulsive as me. I'll be sure to post some pics once I get her detailed. For now, I'm addicted to the wheeeee pedal. Damn I forgot how much fun it is to have right-now V8 power.

Oh yeah, and I know, the 04 only has the LS1, blah, blah, blah... I don't care. This is more than enough fun for now and I got a decent price compared to an 05 or 06.

BTW if anyone knows of any good sources of info for modding/maintaining these cars, please let me know, I'd like to find a forum similar to FF that's low-key and not a bunch of testosterone-driven jerks.

Ha, no mods for now. I kind of like the fact that it looks like an average Pontiac and doesn't stand out. The dealer had tons of the new G8 and that is one sick-looking car, but it really stands out and says "hey cops, look at me!"

Dealer was hella shady too, they pulled all the slimy tricks you know a dealer is going to try (tried to get me to go through them for financing, tried to sell me extended warranty, didn't want to budge on the price at first, etc, etc), it was so predictable it was funny.

badass. My friend has one but doesnt take care of it and runs the piss outta it (I'd like to knock him out and steal the car :-D) That LS1 has more than enough power! That impluse blue is nice color!

Have you tried ls1tech.com for info/mods? There's also a GTO forum. Both are loaded with ways to spend money. I'm on the cadillacforums.com a lot, and it does get expensive! [cheers]

Yeah with times being what they are, I don't have any plans to make big changes to the car any time soon. There's all kinds of good stuff for these cars out there though.

BTW the drive-by-wire is weird. If the traction control comes on, the gas pedal pushes back up to prevent you from losing control by giving too much throttle. Executionerhk, the dealer was asking a ridiculous price (about $24,000 IIRC) but I took it home for $17,000 in October last year which was fair for the condition, year, and mileage (and the fact that I was buying it from a dealer, not private party).

dealer has a little better protection, so it is worthed...

Yeah it was an okay price, I had my eye on a Torrid Red 2004, for a better price and with slightly less mileage on it... but the dealer went out of business before I could buy the car. Dealers are falling left and right!

I'm probably better without a red car anyway since they tend to attract attention from the police.

Yeah I hear that plenty. It doesn't bother me, maybe because I'm too young to have experienced the original when it was new, so this car doesn't seem like sacrilege to me. I just ignore the name and think of it as being the only Pontiac made in the last ten years or so worth buying.

Nice I heard one with a nice lopey idle and bout blew a load cause it sounded hottttt! with the exhaust he had to go with it. I heard him cruising around for a long ass time after seeing the car. Nice buy!

I have a job that provides a company vehicle so that's what gets the miles put on it. So the Focus and the GTO are both basically just for fun at this point.
