High All
My name is Wes and i have just recently purchased a 2009 Focus SES Sport
Right know im looking to just get to know the car really well and some time soon i would love to inprove its performance
As of right know all i know is that i have just a plain 2.0L 4 cylinder
Im trying to convince my father that there are performance upgrades for the motor that will not hurt it and possibly give me better fuel economy
Any help or suggestions would be great

a cold air intake could help with mpg maybe, a custom turbo kit would help too [paranoid]

well, I don't think a turbo will give you better mileage!! haha, 42 lb injectors over 19, well, thats a lil bit o difference!!

Thanks for the Ideas
Does anyone know what type of engine it is???
I know its a 2.0L but is there anything special about it and would it be able to hold up to aftermarket parts such as a CAI and an Exhaust System

welcome bro!
Cold air intake and exshaust will help MPG's and will sound good plus the duratech seems to do very well with these simple bolt on mods.
good luck and enjoy the new car.

I thought that only 08 and eariler models had the duratech engine

hmm ok well hopefully this should convince my dad that an aftermarket exhaust and CAI will not harm the engine
He has it stuck in his head that thoes too mods will harm the engine cause of the added power increases

duratech has been around alot longer than 06....try websites like steeda.com, focussport.com, focus.c-f-m.com, f2focus.com. Just look for parts specific to a duratec 2.0L

Welcome to FF ,[welcome]
Take your time and when you decide on what CAI and exhaust you want . Just be sure and call who ever it is and make sure it's for that type of engine and will fit without any modifications .
I just installed a K&N cai for my 07 SE now I'm waiting on the exhaust which is being manufactured at the moment..

[welcome] yeah take your time when it comes to your focus.. especially that it is brand new.. I would try to make sure anything you do to your car doesnt void the warranty.. A friend of mine was so freaked out about it he would put his stock intake on everytime he went for a check up
