: Scan Tools
venomfocus 09-28-2008, 11:32 AM Any reconmendations on good scan tools? Basicly they do the same thing but have different features. Ive been looking at scan gauge's unit i like the real time data readings. i doesnt data log, but i dont do that anyway. i like how it looks and the extra features. comments welcomed!!
lildisco 09-28-2008, 01:42 PM I have the ScanGaugeII and I love it. It scans and reads codes and gives you real time data about certain things like intake temps, mpg's, coolant temp, etc... It's relativiely cheap and it's a good all around tool. There are better out there, but for the price it isn't too shabby.
dubalicious 09-28-2008, 03:23 PM I have a scan guage II and I love it as well.
mikebontoft 09-28-2008, 03:30 PM lol I think I got my idea from one of you guys.... lildisco I think it was you [:D]
I'll tell ya what, I love it..... I've been revving more than normal today, yet I've been getting more than normal gas mileage.....lol I mean, still only like 26, but I usually get around 23mpg
little hint though, don't buy directly from the scangaugeII website, try it from here: http://www.neverenoughauto.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=4231
or their ebay store, it's about $10 cheaper and their shipping is like totally fast cause they sent it out wednesday and I got it friday same week. hehe thanks guys [thumb]

I don't know why I hit quote for this, but dude I WUV your car..... haha. no really though, I so want to put an SVT bumper on mine, get some projectos with the turn signals, and get the euro grille for SVT look from CFM... you don't have an SVT engine in there, do you?
oops off topic but i just had to say it [:D]

Glad you like it, it's expensive, but it's the way Ford should have made a SVT Sedan version. No there isn't a SVT Engine in there, but i do have some engine mods. I have something in the works for me to be more like an SVT [;)]

I got mine from here: http://www.therpmstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=365
I also got extra cable to easily swap out and read codes and what not on other vehicles [wave]
DURATECoftheDesert 09-29-2008, 04:35 PM I bought a cheapy scanning tool once at autozone, I don't remember what the brand name was but it was pretty neat; the only think I wanted it for was to see what my car was not telling me (I didn't have a CEL problem).
It only told me that my car had a couple of missfires and what not, nothing big.
