I dont no aobut you guys and gals, but i took along time to name my baby. And theres a good story behind her name.
I want to make this a thread about the reason you named your car, what you did.

My cars name is Penelopi. Named after the greek wife of Odysseus, who in the twenty years Odysseus was gone, turned down many men hoping her true love would return.
This name fits my car becasue just after i got her, i lost my license for an entire year. She sat in my driveway that entire year waiting for her TRUE driver to return. My dad took her to work and back, my freinds drove her with me in the car, but she never quite purred like she does for me now. So there she sat and waited for me.

Thus, the name Penelopi was bestowed unto her.[thumb]

im used to my family calling their cars names, and im used to naming other cars. however wen it came to finding a name for my focus i couldn't think of one. its called my or the focus

Its blue. French Blue Metallic.

Well, I call my car the Lord of the Skies, which in Spanish means "El señor de los cielos". El señor de los cielos was or still is, nobody knows the real truth, a Mexican drug dealer who's real name was or is, Amado Carrillo Fuentes. Amado Carrillo literally translated into English means Beloved Little Car. I know it sounds odd but in Spanish it doesn't. ammm no estoy muy seguro de eso, pero por lo menos aki en Tijuana si se utiliza algo asi como, "mira ese pinche carrillo", y stoy seguro ke tambien en otras partes de Mexico, alomejor es mas propio de las personas de Costa Rica pero de que en Mexico se usa, si se usa.

Both my Focuses are named GoldDigger, cuz ever since we got the first shes been costing me more then any other car we own lately[nutkick] ( plus there both gold color) lol

Lets see I've owned the first for roughly 2-3 years and already spent double what I paid for it when I bought it.. the second which I bought not even a week ago is already grinning for one heck of an expensive overhaul ( new engine, new interior parts, and a makeover only my Ex would ever think of (if I was around she usually got the deluxe and gave me the sad puppy face, in other words Pay the $100-200 bill) [angel]

I named my ford focus, focus or my car. Thqats because its a focus or i'm saying its mine. My last car was named Beamer, because it was a BMW.

My ZX3 is Eli, short for Elijah's Fiery Chariot. When I first saw the Focus, I wanted one badly, but was upended on payments on my current car at the time. I used to drive by dealerships and stare at them, hoping one day I could have one. When I used to look at them, there was one color that I really didn't like and that was Autumn Orange. Well, a year later, I found a used one on a dealer lot with only 12K miles on it, and was able to work the deal for it. What color was it? You guessed it - Autumn Orange. At the time, I so wanted out of my other car, that I would have taken just about any color. As it happens, though, I've come to really love that color. I'm still amazed how it can look almost wine red at night, and then turn a tangerine orange in bright sunlight. My family always used to name their cars, so I knew this one was going to have to have a good one. The car really was a blessing at a time when my wife and I really needed one, so I wanted it to have a name to remind me of that. One day, my wife was looking at the car in the sunlight and said that the color reminded her of reddish-gold flames. I instantly thought of the car being my "fiery chariot", and the rest you know.


The SVT was a little quicker to name. I'd wanted a Comp Orange SVT ever since I saw them. I looked for a while until ,last October, I found mine. I mulled over various "pumpkin" type references in my mind, but nothing seemed to fit. As I was driving to work one day, I happened to be reflecting back to the movie that we watched the night before. It was "The Nightmare Before Christmas", and some of the songs and quotes were still running through my mind. I remembered the quote by Jack Skellington saying "I am the Pumpkin King", and it hit me - I'll call him Jack.

Cause it's red and it's little and it's a ZX3[:)]

But I just call it 'Red' for short.

Mr. Focus, and some other choice words for when the aforementioned Mr. Focus gives me problems.

I call mine the Red Comet.

The villian ( if you can call him that ) from the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Char Aznable, was called the Red Comet because of the way after destroying a ship, he would use the expansion wave from the explosion to propel him to his next target. I dart and weave through traffic like a maniac to get home after work so the name fits.

The ironic thing is, before I got my Focus, I didn't like red cars!

Candy - When I looked at her, she reminded of one of my favs hard candy, it comes in a strawberry wrapper, it's red inside. So I dunno she reminded me of that Candy, so I called her Candy. :)

I was never the kind of guy that named a car, but after I painted my wheels and brakes, someone told me "you should call it the red devil" I wasn't sold, but a few days later myself and a co-worker were riding by it on a golf cart and he turned to me and said "damn man, es un diablo now!" so right then and there, I knew it was the red devil.

I often call my car the Fucus, but since joining FF, I call it the FoFo about the same as the Fucus.

I just call it The Focus.

I call it the Sex Machine becuase that's exactly what it is.

well my wife calls it the skittle.. simply because its orange.. so it just kinda stayed with the car.. some call it the super skittle.. i dunno why

I call my svt Homer J cus he's yellow and i love the simpsons, i even have a decal of homer on my rear window.

I named mine Killer. My motorcycle's name is Stiller and Killer rhymes. Plus I think Focus headlights look like angry eyes. Killers are angry. So - Killer. My license plate says KILLR22 (22 is my favorite number). And mine is a BOY. They don't all have to be shes...

My wife and I always name our cars -- when we got my wife's current ride, a Saturn Vue, our two girls (then ages 4 and 6) decided they wanted to call it "Cookie Monster." Not sure why, because the Vue is black . . . I could understand if it was blue, but what the heck. The name stuck.

When we got the Focus (a silver ZX3) we were trying to figure out a name. Because of the long "O" in "Focus," my oldest daughter hit on "Elmo." I said "Elmo" would work if it was red, but it just didn't work for a silver Focus. Then my wife said, "How about 'Oscar,' like Oscar the Grouch?" I replied that the Focus wasn't really a "grouchy" car, but Oscar DID live in a silver trash can, and Oscar's not REALLY grouchy, just misunderstood. Anyway, since the Focus was silver, and since we bought it used and it required a bit of TLC and "understanding" at the start, "Oscar" worked for me.

Our previous cars' names were:

Spot (black '93 Honda Del Sol, licence plate "SUNSPOT")
Dash (charcoal '96 Nissan Maxima SE)
Dot (black '98 Saturn SL2)
