im just wondering what other people want for the end result for their cars?

such as a full out race car? a mild mannered auto-crosser?

all out show car?



i'll start... i want my car to a wonderful weekend car, that is to be a very fun project for the new wife and i, and to also eventually get a full magazine feature, i got a small excerpt as some people have seen in modified mag... but i am talking about a full feature...

i plan on keeping this car, after we get a house, garaged kept until at least my new baby is atleast 16... the baby is due in late january in 09.


so whats everyone elses end result for their car? list mods and such if you want to!

I want to keep it streetable but fully built for NA eventually. Its gonna be a LONG process and probably wont be a DD in the end but thats ok. Fully built motor, SVT brakes, suspension pretty much as is right now, etc. Although it will be a while. A house is a current priority.

A monster N/A engine. Something that has peak power in the mid -high RPM range with fully adjustable suspension.... To put it simply, I want to corner extremely fast...... now to win the lotto! ........... wait you gotta play to win huh? damn it.....

my car needs to be a daily driver...and i need some mpgs, and i obviously wanna look good. so just the standard intake/exhaust modifications, set of rims, and an svt front bumper, and my car will be donezo. hopefully next summer ill be able to finish my plans..

theres always the carputer, and brake ducts, and racing seats, but those are just add-ons.

My car does what I need it to do: take me places, Assault the backroads, cruise the strip, and KEEP UP with mustangs.........LOL........

Well I have 2 one being the DD and the other to play with.

The DD has FRPP springs, Cossie intake, Borla exhaust, ST grill blacked out Headlights, tint and it will get a set of summer rims put on soon other than that it won't get much more. Oh yeah and pay it off!


The other is an SVT I picked up knowing that it needed work but got it for a deal but that will more than likely get a SC, Coilovers, alot of body work,"Dings and Dents" and alot of TLC. Not going to go to radical with it since it is an SVT I will not touch any of the SVT Coolness other than what I had mentioned above.

Seriously, mine has been paid off for a year now, it's our toy and we use for all kinds of things. Owning the backroads, auto-x, taking it to car shows & driving it daily. Eventually it's getting teh SVT brakes, boost & EGT gauges, upgrading the oil lines to SS, maybe a rear seat delete, a little more sound, teh hubby wants more power for it (even though I'm happy with 225 WHP it's not enough for him. LOL) so a built motor is in the works cause we already have the head, ect. I thought we were done but it's never done. LOL.

auto-cross ready it with bigger breaks, more engine mods, and some crazy weight reduction. so it a crazy fast NA.

for those plans to go right, i need to buy another car to drive around when the focus would be ripped apart. I'm thinking about a convertible, maybe a bmw z3.

I want an all out rally car!! I want to compete in LSPR rally up in Houghton Michigan. W/ a rally car, you don't want 500 hp, cause you cant hook. I also want my car to be street legal, It won't be a dailly driver, but it will be a fun weekend car!! lookin for like 220 hp or so

I just wanted my focus to be different thatn the billions of other focuses here in the desert, There are other that are different too; but other focuses in my area are stock w/ marine families driving them, and im pretty sure the do not have time to do aftermarket upgrade since they only want to go back and forth to the base.

There is my focus and theres that beautiful blue focus SES w/ SAP with 18" wheels and 35% tint that I see on base, the rest of the car is stock but I was amazed it can even put 18" wheels...... I wouldn't recommend it..... but it's always awesome to be creative.

I want mine to get me to work every day without major issues. So far so good, I haven't even changed the brakes yet and I'm at 70k. I expect the brake job soon. I'm saving money, have ordered poly suspension bushings, and hope to have enough to change over at least the rear brakes to discs by the time I have to do the fronts. Every time I look at the front pads- there's still a lot of friction material left. Maybe in a couple of months I'll finally do the brakes. If I'm lucky I'll have enough for the full SVT brake kit. Within the next 2 years I expect to replace the engine, hopefully with a 2.5 from a late model Escape. If gas prices go down, I'll consider keeping the little motor and turboing it.

Probably none of this is going to happen anyway, I have a kid on the way to prepare for, so there goes the car fun budget-LOL.

this has also crossed my mind... like a little turbo setup... nothing big.

pay it off, build a N/A 2.5L dura for it, LSD/clutch/flywheel, SVT brakes, euro/sap bumpers and a good set of seats :3 Itll be my daily for a while so well see, but judging from my skylark I cant leave my daily alone!

I've got two so my plans are like this:

The SVT will be my daily driver, so I want to do some mild N/A mods to achieve anywhere between 170hp and 200hp at the wheels. Also suspension & brake upgrades for possible weekend autocrossing, and some Euro styling inside and out.

The ZX3, I'd like to build as a full-on turbo car running up to, say, 350hp or so. I'd like to have some nice suspension/brake upgrades and some custom/euro style interior mods. For the exterior, I'd like to do a full RS conversion.

The only thing holding me back, as always, is the matter of insufficient cash flow.[rant]

yeah....

cash flow is almost always the problem.

but when i got my focus i thought i would never have the money for racing seats, a lowered suspension, or an engine swap.

so im happy with my focus. wouldn't trade it for the world.....

unless that also included another '02 Toreador Red ZX3 with 16" alloy rims.

but yeah.... duratec + turbo = win.

All I want is a sexy black and gold street beast, enough power to make driving on the street and such always put a smile on my face at 3k or so :) Not a race car, just a fun DD.

well i know i dont have the money to make as fast as i want it, but a little more power would be nice.

the great thing is that you can do things in steps....

or save for a really long time.... and send your car out for a month to get everything done.

or you can spend over a year just trying to get it to run again....

3. buy house
4. pay off car
5. buy euro focus IF there will be an ST or RS version in the us

as for the current ride, i wat a tb, header and motor mounts, i dont think it will go much past that, as for she is getting old at 89,XXX miles and it is my daily driver so she has to run every time i turn the key.

i want my focus to have some new wheels and the fs stage two turbo kit. this is to be my daily driver to get me to work and back once i get done with engineering school. but still have plenty of power to play with on my way to work.

i hope to be riding around in a cobra once i get out of school.
