Dude, KCIR (Kansas City International Raceway) is only about a 30 min drive from my house. It is an extremely nice 1/4 mile track, which is much better than an 1/8 mile track. I would like to come up and see where you come from sometime though, and hang out in Nebraska. Ive never even been to Nebraska before.

There is a member on this site who works in the same town as me, yet we've never met or seen each others foci on the road. LOL. But I see modded foci around here all the time. There is a yellow zx3 w/ full cervini's kit that I see regularly on the road, but have never met, and I see svt's from time to time. I saw an eap svt today actually, his eyes were glued to my car as I was driving by. Hopefully he saw the focusfanatics licence plate surround.

can i still join even though i don't have the fofo anymore? jed knows me and he can tell you that i am very handy when it comes to working on cars, so i think if you ever had a meet that i could attend and someone needed help with something i would more than be able to help.

KCMO here, well actually Lee's Summit. I don't frequent the Midwest forum much. Oddly enough on this site, MO is considered a Great Lakes state [???:)] Seen quite a few SVTF's around (one of which works for the same company as I, but not the same building) and some modded Foci but don't think any of them are on here or FJ. I'm sure if someone saw me, they'd say something on here. Not too many Comp. Orange's running around locally.

that sounds like it would be fun. i haven't been on anything but a 1/4mi track in a long time. used to race shifter carts, but that was a long time ago. if it doesn't cost too much i might come out. i don't know how my tires will hold up though.

EDIT: i just researched and they have touring club stuff to where you can run whatever you bring for like $60 if you register online. the next touring club event is on SEPT 10th. here is the website if you don't feel like searching for it.

is that at the same track? i might go but i am still not sure on the tire issue. if i do i would probably take it easy in the corners so as not to tear my tires up too bad. i definitely wouldn't mind whooping some porshe ass.

^what do you mean good luck? on whooping up on porshes? it isn't that far fetched of a thought considering that most porshes are stock and the ones that can beat me where i stand now(~350whp/400wtq) are the high end ones. the only advantages that any of them have over me are off the line and top end speed. off the line will only matter once and we will probably never get past the speed capabilities of my car(160mph) so i don't see it as being a problem.

i edited my post above to show what the hp ratings for each models is, crank and at the wheels. since porshes are rear engine the drivetrain loss would be similar to front engine/fwd cars so it would roughly be a 15% loss to the wheels. also keep in mind that i am pushing about 350-360whp and 400+wtq

far from it dude. granted my car is already turboed so i really didn't have to spend a lot of money for that aspect of it, i have spent around 3 grand in parts.

i wish i had that kind of money to turbo my focus. then i would kick some ass. (i already do, but a turbo would be nice)

Everyone interested in the track day @ Heartland park. Go http://www.kcrpca.org/index.html on the right side you will see Heartland park Topeka and register which will take you to http://www.clubregistration.net/index.cfm?pca here you have to register to the website. Once registered, go to dashboard and look up an event this event is sponsored by the PCA of Kansas City.

Two days will cost $275. I need to contact him again and see if there is a one day cost, because I don't want to abuse my car for two straight days. This is a driver school so there are going to be instructors to ride along. They are are really helpful guys and girls.

I am going to look into an alternative date the following weekend, I will see if we can get in a bit cheaper.

yeah, @ 275, im out right now. Next summer I would definatly go, by then I will be graduated and hopefully making some money.

I have a call in for the following weekend which is a Richard Petty Driving School and should be cheaper, but a lot less track time.

@275 for two days i am out too. i really don't want someone in my car while i am driving balls to the wall. it will just distract me and i really don't do well with other people telling me how to drive or what to do while i am driving. once we get the money/date thing ironed out i will update the list again.

Well, no matter what the track will have someone in your car with you at some point during the day. When the driver thinks you have the hang of it they will let you go out on your own. You will have fun with the instructor in the car, then when he gets out you will feel much faster. The instructors are certified SCCA drivers. They are there to race also.

This is a world class race track and they don't want anyone to get hurt or damage their cars. There is a mandatory driver meeting. Where you will meet your instructor. Your instructor will drive your car around and give you a basic run down of the track and what gear your car should be in for maximum performance, and how you should take the corners.

This is A LOT of fun I am bummed it is soooo much last time I payed like $150. I am looking into another weekend that might be cheaper.

oh, well. i was thinking that it was going to be around 100 bucks because when i looked on the website and was looking at what it cost for all of the other events, it was like 80 bucks. i don't think the wife would let me go spend more than that just to drive around, plus the gas it will take to get out there, AND to have to get new tires when i am done. all in all it would probably end up costing me well over 1K to do it so i am definitely out.

side note: we should still have some sort of get together reguardless of whether we do this or not. i figure since KC is pretty much in the middle of the majority of the people here, we could have a gtg at like Dave and Busters or something. that way we can have some fun, drink some beer, and get some food all in one place.

Scratch the other weekend too... It is even more expensive around $500 for the track time.

that is where my wife is going to work when we move out there after i get out of the military. she is an RN so she will be working at Longmont United while i go to CU in boulder for my architect degree. just for reference, i don't like the buffalos, but they are the only college in colorado that has the degree i want. if it were my choice i would go to UT(texas) for my degree but the wife wants to be close to family so that is out, and since CSU doesn't have that degree, that is where i am stuck, going to school with a bunch of hippies.[dunno]

i live in fort collins now. but im joining the air force and will most likely be in florida by the time you move here. i use to go to denver all the time with my boosted mitsu mirage and get in trouble all the time though. so i went right through longmont.

no, shaun isn't coming. he went back to pretty much stock after the last incident at the track when his injector cap blew off and was dumping fuel. all he has now is an adjustable wastegate actuator and a mapclamp. my supervisor, the one with the charger, is going though. hopefully, if i can figure out how to launch with my new clutch, i will see 12s on my slip. it is a race clutch so it is either on or off, no slipping it with this one. i am going to try some other things with my launch as well, like not flooring it in 1st or 2nd since i don't get traction in those gears if i go over 5psi of boost. i'm going to try to keep it at 1/2-3/4 throttle until i shift to 3rd and then i will gun it.

Just thought I would say I pimped a zx3 silver with black rims, lowered, aftermarket tails, and a fart can.

There's got to be a ton of shops in the Springs, but I don't know of any to send you to. As far as the procharger goes, I'd take it to Ford's SVT shop in Denver, have them slap a Jackson Racing Super Charger on it, do the dyno there and be done with it. I'd imagine they'd be pricey, but it IS Ford, and they've always done a solid job with what little they did on my dad's Big-Block 460. Over 600 horses in a full-size Bronco, yeah it ScARes the local cameros.

ok im gonna be going back to delaware on the 23rd of march to bring my focus to the springs i have the money to get a procharger but the kit i was gonna buy is sold now and the other kit im looking at the seller is responding to me with transaction details any suggestions on where i can get a supercharger asap.

i'll help you out jed. might be able to get shaun to help too if his shoulder is feeling better. he broke his collar bone about a month or so ago. let me know something so i can plan around when you want to do it. i do have a lot of things going on so i can't promise that i will be able to make it. the swap should be fairly easy because you won't have to take the engine/transmission apart to get it out. just undo all of the things connecting to both(i.e. axels, harnesses, intake, exhaust) until it is just the engine and tranny, and then just drop it out of the bottom. install, you would just reverse it, but you would probably want to do all of the wiring harnesses, and any of the little things you would need to do, if they are different for the svt than the spi(i believe they are), and then put the motor/tranny in from the bottom and mount it up.

also, if you get it completely and running before the 25th of April, you can come along to a dyno day to see how much you got. it is as Modified by KC in Merriam, KS.
