Had some free time today and needed to escape the Georgia Heat, came across this.

Dunno if its a repost, but it seems very appealing to me.

Also, having a 415hp turbo chargered V6 in the stang looks interesting.

This part is news to me. Other models considered for EcoBoost are a four-cylinder EcoBoost Fusion in 2010, a low-volume Focus GT with a four-cylinder EcoBoost in 2010....

It says that project is on hold.

The Ecoboost Focus GT seems interesting. I'm still drooling for a Fiesta with an Ecoboost engine.

They are going to have to sell smaller cars that people like and they can make money on. That means cool smaller cars with good options, but not cheap.

Sound nice. Also, I was wondering what the ecoboost was.

Ecoboost is the term for the new engine that Ford started using in its 4cyl and 6cyl lines. Started with the Lincoln version of the Edge and will move down into more lines in 2009 and 2010. It is as total a change in engine as the Zetec to Duratec change was. Only, this time, they are supposed to have small turbos to make up the power differences. I think Ford Europe is starting to run things now.

I like the sounds of this. In the comments on the article, someone mentioned something that struck me as incredibly true. He said something along the lines of "Ford is doing what they should be doing, returning to innovation." And thats exactly what they need to do. Look at all their most successful projects....

Model T: Need I say more?

Original Mustang: Power, appeal, affordability for the masses.

Original Taurus: Quality, style, affordability, and technology.

Original Explorer: Made the body-on-frame SUV the craze that is just now ending.

Ford Focus: "Control-blade" rear suspension. Superior handling/driving for its time.

Ford GT: Took the exotic world by storm, still draws more stares that numerous cars on the road, and drives incredibly well. Editor at Edmunds.com said he'd still prefer his GT over an R8 in a very recent blog posting.

Each and every one of the cars listed innovated instead of following in lock-step with the mainstream, and each one was a success. The European lineup with the EcoBoost motors will do the same thing, innovate and provide affordable, quality cars to the masses.

I, for one, cannot wait for the 2010 model year, because I'm tired of Asian automakers pitching awkward designs with strong build quality only to have them bought up because Average-Joe American because he can't tell an ugly, disproportionate car from and strong design. 2010 will be the re-emergence of the American car. GM is leading the way right now and Ford is turning things around; however, let us all pray for dear Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, I dont think there's any hope for them anymore...
