In the near future i plan on doing a v8 swap into a zx3... I did some searching and reallly didn't come up with anything...
Whats the width of the zx3 wheel base and if anyone's done this what size did you use for your rearend?
Also does anyone know what cubic in/ft i'm lookin at in the zx3 engine bay?
If your wondering, I'm either going to use a small block 5.0 302 or the 5.8l 351, i am staying in the ford family with this one lol.

Look at the kugel komponents web site. They say 8.8 on the rear end. They have kits for the 5.0 cammer and the modular 4.6 is coming.

Thanks for the hook up on the kugel komponents, i seen a couple things that i will defiantly be getting. It also confirmed that a 8.8 rear end will work, so thats good news. Depending on the motor i buy i'll most likely end up switching it to carburetor. Also since I have to change my fuel tank, it will be easy to change the fuel pump. Now I just have to find another zx3 body, the one I knew about was given away. :( Its gunna be a great project lol.

probably to save himself from electrical hell.
its a PITA enough trying to figure out how to make the Contour and Focus wiring harness's play together nicely, and they're both EEC-V!

Thanks for answering, ZX3.... The reason for me switching to a carburetor, a "electrical hell" and b. with the right tuning and the right carb you can make wonders happen. It also eliminate several selenoids, sensors, and other troublesom boogers lol. This car will mostly be for track fun, so fuel economy, emissions, and over all "drivability" is out the window. :D

I've got a 5.0 injection in mine plus vortec v1 (yes electrical hell, but that's my work) with 331 stroker waiting to go in.
351 has been done but the clearance to hood starts to be an issue, if it's for track that won't worry you.

I think i'm going to go with the 302... I've got a set of heads for the 302 already, so that will help... Electrical is defiantly not my thing. I'm going to start tracking down parts, comparing prices and, ordering very soon.... I've yet to check the junkyards for a zx3.
