I'm really interested in finding out if it would be possible to take a regular auto focus and do a transmission swap for a tiptronic on it. I know the manual swap is an insanely difficult project, but how would a semi-auto swap go?

Actually I believe its the contrary. The manual swap being easy whilst the semi-auto being not.

I may have been out of the Focus game for too long now, but is there a semi-auto out there that you can swap in? I dont know of any foci that come with that tranny.

Nope. Old thread someone was trying to make a Kit for it. I believe he was trying to use a Mazda 3 Tiptronic. your crazy for it to seem easier for you haha. i mean think about it? Manual Swap is not too hard and i just saw a brilliant write up for it not too long ago. check out the forums =)

yea i saw that thread, it was really well done and I respect the guy for doing it and doing a good job with it but seemed like wayy too much for me. As for where the tranny would come from i was thinking the mazda 3 only problem I saw was it doesn't have that display for which gear your in but thinking about it now i guess there are a lot of little faults in this idea lol. guess its more a dream [mecry]
